The percentage of comps thing is starting to get stale. As a dealer myself, setting up at shows has many fees that have to be considered. I get consistently asked by flippers “what percentage are you at” instead of something else like “how’s the show been?” or even “What would be your best?” People barely look at you these days. From kids to adults, they’re running comps on their phones. I’ve avoided the entire percentage of comps thing, now. I price at comp or a few bucks above depending on the card, and I knock off a few bucks on a card by card basis. I’m saving buyers the shipping cost from buying online and a few bucks off is more than fair. I have had flippers flat out tell me, not getting at least 20% off isn’t going to do them any good. I politely tell them that what they do with the cards after they buy from me is something that I cannot be a part of. Some have walked and some have purchased at my price. Either way, eventually, someone still purchases my cards at the prices I feel comfortable with. I am starting to see a lot of other dealers catch on to this practice at shows. I was at a show where no one was budging below 90-95%, and people were buying because online is too competitive.

The dude I bought the card from commented on the video and said he’s glad I like the card and will be back with more next month. Imagine crying about what someone else bought a card for when the dealer doesn’t even care. Now that’s childish.

@@thelasvegaskid I've been collecting Brady for many years, The collective hobby has been more receptive to his bowman, bowman chrome and bowman refractor than to any serialized absolute, etc rookie of his because majority of his serialized stuff is either in a practice uniform or in college unis - which aren't desirable to the masses. I had lots of serialized brady rookies but it just doesn't hit the same.

@@The047SportsTCGCards I get your point, I don’t collect the college uniforms. I personally love the victory ssp, showcase 2000 pats uni and a few other practice jersey pats helmet numbered stuff. I may get a bowman or bowman chrome at some point just to have them but to me, when there are only 1k or 1.3 k cards made of a goat I think long term they will be hard to find. Thanks for your insight though, I’ll look around and see if I can find some bowman stuff at a good price. I’m buying now and plan on holding for 20 years when it’s still obvious Brady is the goat. I’m a cowboys fan, just my opinion.

the reason dealers are not wanting to go under comps is they are thinking why sell stuff for 80% to let the next person make my profit when im selling cards any way the 3x comps is just crazy but its gonna keep getting harder to find any kind of deals from dealers at a show
