I'm very fond of the viola, especially when the C string is utilised. I compared this version to Sarah Chang on the violin with continuum. I'm in two minds, it seems like they are two different compositions. The violin is more melodic, but the viola is more expressive. It depends on your mood, which version you prefer.

What is "original bowing" please?

What the composer wrote as bowings. Other editions simplified it into separate stacatto bowings instead of the original, harder "flying stacatto or spicatto i think is the term. Basically a controlled ricochet while drawing the bow and with a new note on each bounce instead of separate up and down bows, the second being the easier and not original bowing.
