Hello! Thank you for your question. The instrumental music is included in the editing software from Adobe that I use. The record being played is from the dance band Cremos where I was a member and played drums and it was recorded in 1979.

Well done, always found hard to keep tension of main drive belt and grip between take-up idler always seemed to need adjustment. a lot of time and hard work, however sound was probably the best from any stand alone machine, did you have trouble reinstalling the circuit board type switches after cleaning them?

Hello David! Thanks for your post. There was no problem refitting the circuit board switches apart from the very small lock washers that fly off easily when refitting! They are so small that it is not easy to find them.

please could you help me. I just got this reel to reel and I'm having trouble getting a good playback from it. The volume is very low and and has elecrtical noise from monitor out and a bit different noise from line in/out - tried it with scarlett 2i2 and marantz pm630 amplifier - it's the same. noise is almos louder than the music. it has only din connectors and I'm using din to rca cable. I opened the cable up and wires are connected to 3, 5 and ground to 2. could you please explain to me how do you get this reel to reel to play without noise and with good volume? I'd also like to record my own music to tape and digitize it but I'm a bit worried to even test recording as the output from my focusrite scarlett 2i2 is probably too strong for this r2r's input.

Hello! The tape player was manufactured in the 70s and the components, mainly the electrolytic capacitors, are destroyed over time. It only takes one of these being destroyed for a transistor switch to stop working or for a humming sound to be heard in your amplifier! Renovation of the tape player is needed to fix the problem. @@Volvoalladagar I managed to talk to a tech in the meantime and he said to try different cable so I ordered 5 pin din to 4 rca cable. if that doesn't work he'll take a look at it and I'll let him know what you said. I'm sure he'll know what to do as he fixed some of my vintage gear already. thank you very much for the input!!

it was overhauled not long ago and was tested and working in front of my friend who got it for me so that's why I'm expecting the electronics to work properly. but you never know, capacitor might have gone bad in the mean time... anyways thanks again!

Hello Andrey! The drive belt for the tape recorder is for sale on ebay, just search the tape recorder model number. Very likely the friction pads need to be replaced too! See my video for the 3000x series. Interest in tape recorders has increased recently and the price reflects the degree of renovation needed.

Hej! Ska försöka renovera en Tandberg 4000X. Antar att det är gummikork från Biltema du har använt under skivtallrikarna och som du visar vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIvQe3akYrl-rck ? Hur många mm använde du till slut? Ser ut som du la dubbel matta? 2 x 2 mm?

Fin renovering lite synd att se att små detaljer ja som typ fönster hissar inte är rengjorda och ser även ut som under rede inte fått ja färg hade kanske tagit några extra månader

I have a 1965 1800S that's been sitting in a garage since 1979. Minimum surface rust and original. I known I won't find many in this condition. It shows its cosmetic age with carpet faded, chrome pitted, seals cracked, paint that have imperfections. Question: What kind of cost is it to restore or drive as is, or maybe sell at what cost. You did a great job on yours.

when doing such a job, satisfaction is way greater than cost, usually, you can figure the cost of a new car plus your work ( about 2000 + hours) if you plan to use your spare time to do the job the satisfaction to own such a pristine and unique car is priceless

The car of my dreams ! Volvo should manufacture an up to date version of the P1800, a version WITH the original concept in mind. A bit like Chrysler did with the Dodge Challenger.

Min första bil var en 1964 P1800S. Trimmad B18 och helrutten vänster framskärm Opel Signalblå när jag köpte den, Vinröd när jag sålde den. Nostalgin flödar!
