great video mate, quick one.... If you vlog with this speedbooster, does the external microphone pick up any sound of the AF working with the speedbooster?
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Hey I honestly can't tell a difference in the AF noise between the standard adapter and the new Viltrox one. It also focuses just as fast.
@TheBudgeteers6 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethian2217 thanks man, I really considering picking up the Canon m50 with speedbooster and then picking up a few EF lens with IS for our next set up upgrade. Currently shooting with the 700d with EF-S 10-18mm which has been our main camera set up for tooooo long now!
@SpencerLupul6 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that your speedbooster is giving you an F/1.2 across an APS-C size sensor, so you still have to apply the crop factor to the apurture as well. So, it's still a 50mm 1.8 FF equivelent basically. To Recap: APS-C Cam + Speedbooster + 50mm 1.8 = 50mm 1.2 lens with APSC Coverage which is pretty close to: Full Frame camera + 50mm 1.8 lens with FULL coverage.
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! That's something I completely looked over and I'm glad I know it now!
@Deebohuncho6 жыл бұрын
technically 55mm if you wanna be specific
@kenjones24555 жыл бұрын
That is true in regards to bokeh however you do gain the extra stop in regards to shutter speed. So the M50 shooting shooting a 50mm 1.8 wide open is goona be brighter than a full frame shooting same lens wide open at the same shutter speed.

Maybe firmware it I’m getting ef 70 300 mk 2 4 to 5.6 now a 2.8 to 4 sig 150 600 5 to 6.3 now 3.5 to 4.3 stops seem to vary bit lens to lens no af issues brill better than a stop

Yo did try the f/1.4 30mm on the viltrox SP? Like that F Stop is gonna be a f/1.0 lens LIKE WTFFF
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Invincible haha I did try the 30 1.4. It stops down to 1.0 but since it’s a crop lens, there was some heavy vignetting so it’s not usable. It’s noticeable when shooting video but I still wouldn’t use it unless I throw a letterbox on top of it.

What is that extra adapter you have on the bottom of the camera?
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Nick Vecchioli hey Nick, I’m assuming you’re referring to the SmallRig cage. It’s a cage that mounts specifically to the Canon M5/M50 (though they make them for all sorts of cameras). It lets you add extra attachments like mics, lights, external monitors etc..
@nickvecchioli97966 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethian2217 it increases the size of the grip too? If so where can I find one?
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Nick Vecchioli yes, the grip feels much better than cameras grip. You can find it on Amazon . com by searching SmallRig cage Canon m5
@michaeljordan74516 жыл бұрын
Good evening can you answer a question me regarding viltrox please??? the numbers on the front of the mounts do you know to what apertures they relate to?
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Michael Jordan the only numbers on the viltrox mount adapter is the 0.71x crop factor. What you would do is multiply your camera sensors crop factor by 0.71 and that should give you the effective crop factor. For example, the canon m5/m50 is a 1.6x crop. 1.6 x 0.71 = ~ 1.1. You could do the same for the aperture which is why I’m able to stop down to 1.2 even though my 50mm STM maximum aperture is 1.8. I hope this makes sense!
@michaeljordan74516 жыл бұрын
sorry pardon i mean the other viltrox adapter you have, i have a normal adapter ranging from F to 8 with other stops inbetween, i was wondering you you know what these numbers represtent in apertures ie does the number 5 represent apeture of 7.1 say for innstance. I have contacted Viltrox but can help me with this i was hoping that you could thanks Mike

I got Canon M100, canon 50mm 1.8 STM and Sigma 17-50mm ex dc os hsm. I think the Voltrox EF-EOS M2 will fit on canon 50/1.8 Stm, but i'm not sure about my Sigma len. Can you make me clearly? Thank you.
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Brian Mr hey the sigma lens should fit with this adapter, however, since this adapter essentially changes the cameras effective crop factor to 1.13x, you will see vignetting at the 17-20mm focal range because the “DC” on the Sigma line signifies that the lens is a crop sensor lens. I hope this makes sense and helps!

Damn bro that adapter is clutch...so it also gives you the ability to go from 1.4 to 1.2?
@elizabethian22176 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty clean! It does get you to drop down to 1.2 but it doesn't increase bokeh, just the light.
@paullucas8986 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethian2217 Hi Ian. How does that work? I thought the 1.2 aperture would increase the amount of background blur vs 1.8 or 1.4.
@Deebohuncho6 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethian2217 technically you would have to multiply the aperture by 1.6 as well. For his 50 1.8, on the speedbooster it would technically be a 55 f2.
