I know you also said y'all were freezing and it was miserable, but to hear that gusty wind and know it was that cold sounds great from here in Texas, where it's extremely hot and humid. Fantastic vid Glen, and thanks also for the rec on where to stop afterwards, that looked delish! 👋

Nice vid that brings back memories for me. Climbed that route, when a lad, in 1964 and always remember it because it was the first time I really experienced the amazing feeling of being on such an exposed wall. Sadly, no drones or Gopros in those days, as well as classy SUVs. Instead I had an old 500cc BSA bike, with a sidecar, which was often breaking down. Adventures all the way!

@@simonrobbins815 Hi Simon. Yes absolutely. Not as rugged and mountainous as the western Highlands but still very beautiful and a great place to enjoy Nature and the countryside. Thoroughly enjoyed this y'all, and no, you weren't rambling too much at all lol, I enjoy hearing the back and forth. Yeah I agree, it's devastating to see what happened with the trees (wow Glen, to see how it looked two years ago, what absolute magical beauty), but I agree, in time the area will be completely different and nature will have healed the horrid wounds inflicted. Loved seeing the little insects, heather, and other vibrant flowers that lined the path. Beautiful shots of those. Loved, too, the picture that Aaron (sp?) took of the teeny red little mushroom, felt like the color was jumping through the screen. Thanks so much for a great vid, looking forward to the next one! 👋 Oh! Edited to add that I really appreciate you using the drone, allows for us to see the beauty and views even more!

It’s great how drone footage changes the perception of the scramble….Been up and also down climbed it after some of the other climbs on the Buttress…it’s also a fab winter route. Just wondering why you didn’t top out from the 3rd pitch and instead took a right exit. All the same a good video..👌

I'm 82, and only started climbing/hill walking when I was 60. Like you say, when you drive past it, god, it is so, so impressive. For years, every time I past it I would say to my wife "someday I'm going to be up there". I finally made it. OK, it was the tourist route, but I was well into my seventies. I've been up most of the important "big" ones, but I'm still in love with the shepherd. Thanks for the video. ❤

Superb video. In the past I did a lot of rock climbing in the Peak District, and most edges had routes in guide books etc. However, I have also walked all the Munros in Scotland (the easy way of course), but there are literally 1000s of hard ways up. I would not be surprised that not even 1% have been attempted. Has any one scaled the east face of An Teallach, or the north face of Buachaille Etive Mor (oh sorry you have done this in your video). I remember standing on a more humble top Beinn Bhan in the Applecross peninsula, and noted a pinnacle standing out from its east face cliffs. Has any one actually climbed that? Even from a mundane perspective, has anyone climbed the east face of Snowdon? 100s of videos going up via Crib Goch or from Llandudno etc.
