Why does belt keep coming off, it's a new belt

Try removing the brushroll again and try to spin it by hand, the brushroll should spin freely with no hesitation. If the brush roll does not spin freely, that will cause the belt to either burn off or slip off the motor shaft. sometimes hair can get into the brushroll endcaps causing them to melt. If your brushroll does not spin freely, you'll have to replace it with a new one along with a new belt. When putting the vacuum back toegther it's important to make sure the belt, brushroll and bottom place are on correctly, if the brusholl and bottom plate are not put back on correctly then what may also happen is the brusholl might jam on the bottom plate which again will cause the belt to burn or slip off. After you make sure the brush spins freely and you've installed the new belt. put the bottom plate in place but spin the brushroll by hand before you put the screws back in to make sure everything moves as it should, once you know if eveything moves, put your screws back in and you should be good to go.

Extremely glad that I looked for a video before I watch e and broke my vacuum more than it already is. We have three other vacuums but I'm partial to my 6579-3 model. Similar enough to this one to help me out. You think that one's bad, you'd definitely puke if you saw mine. My mom used it and every time she does she manages to clog it, get a sock wrapped around the roller, burns up a belt, etc. But, this time, it smells like she vacuumed up an entire bottle of perfume or air freshener. Whatever it was, the moisture from it caused all the fine particles she went over to cake the inside of the deck. I seriously wish I could just take it outside and hose it down but, the electrical components, you know.

And, if you weren't aware, the chemicals in scented liquids are corrosive to plastics. One of the hinges from the pile height flap (or whatever it's called) broke off when I removed it. My newest found hack is UV resin. It fixed my windshield washer squirter like a charm and has been holding fast for about 6 months. I'm now trying to figure out why you don't have any cheap toothbrushes around to clean it out. That's primarily what I use. A pack of 7 costs less than $2 at Walmart
