It should, yes. It should theoretically fit any “typical” Tremec TR-6060. I’ve seen some people buy the 5th gen (10-15) Chevy Camaro SS Hurst billet short shifter kit, for their 15+ Dodge Challenger RT or 07-14 Ford Shelby GT500. In that case, I immediately think that these won’t work for Chevy Corvette C6’s and newer models, since those use a transaxle variant of the TR-6060. Oh, and of course, you’ll have to either run a custom shift boot or modify your factory one, if you don’t buy the right kit for your particular application..

Who would reuse the factory shifter knob and shaft when there's that beautiful Hurst one in crime with that Hurst knob

me. having some weight on the knob makes it fall into gear way easier

I was thinking i like the stock look better lol. Like modified but secretly

Surprisingly, I swapped one of the cars I flipped, to the stock shift knob with the adapter stick; and it reduced almost all of the vibrations and buzzing that was coming all the way through from the shift linkage.

damn, 9 years ago. but I just got my 2010 Camaro. I'm worried about a slight grind going into only 3rd gear. a friend says this is the answer. I'm not so sure this will help a broken or cracked synchronizer. has anyone removed a slight grind with a shifter, also only 37,000 miles and V-6.

What happened to the Hurst vertical gate shifter! ??
@kiddt199910 жыл бұрын
you installed the upper with the ridges facing away from the ridged lower. was that right?
@redbeard58945 жыл бұрын
kiddt1999 no I don’t think so
@isnowyazn13 күн бұрын
No… The ridges face EACH OTHER , together; that’s what keeps them from coming loose from any heavy vibrations and other movements. Hopefully, people have figured this out…

Just a heads up for those with a v6. There is an extra step to removing the old shifter, there are centering springs that are needed to be either removed or sprea apart to drop the old shifter down. And hurst doesn't tell you how to do it. I called hurst about it and they never called me back. Apparently if you stretch the dust boot towards the front or back of the car you can see the bolts that hold these paper clip like springs in. Also, you apparently don't need them for the new shifter.
@Stigandrspath12 жыл бұрын
well it seems somebody is a little self conscious, you know if you had the v8 then you would have a bigger set of balls and my comment wouldnt have bothered you and there wouldnt be any need for this argument

Is this v6 does it matter ?
@isnowyazn13 күн бұрын
@@great4ever845The car in the video is an SS, which is a V8 model. The RS, which is the default V6 model, uses a different factory shift knob, which has an additional bolt and other different hardware.

@skavros3 жыл бұрын
@@HBButler01 100% worth it, love mine in my 2010 Camaro and will install one in my Corvette as soon as my warranty expires. Installing it can be a chore for those with big hands, I had a lot of fun trying to get all of the hardware tightened under the car and in the transmission tunnel when I was installing it. The aftermarket version also has a shorter throw than the one that was offered as an option.
@skavros3 жыл бұрын
@@HBButler01 One more thing I forgot to add. My kit was one of the first ones for the Camaro and the feel is quite loose when you are in gears, I have been told that there's a new bushing that will resolve this, I need to somehow find it. That's my only complaint with the short throw.

@brianaquinas Pretty sure the 2011s come with the Hurst.
@isnowyazn13 күн бұрын
For anyone who sees my comment a decade a half later lol…. The late 2010 models and up (to 2015) have an optional Hurst short shifter option from the factory. I believe the RS package V8 models or 2SS, come with the factory version of the Hurst short shifter. You can tell if the car has one equipped, because the 10-11 models come with a Hurst badge embedded in the factory shift knob; same goes with the 12-15 factory shift knobs. The aftermarket model stands out, but only if you equip it with the chrome stick, which usually has an engraved HURST logo, and typically has a ball shift knob. The aftermarket kit does come with an additional stick, to be able to run the stock shift knobs; for those that wanna keep the factory look but get the “best” performance. From what research has told me, the factory Hurst short (throw) shifters only reduce up to 22% of the overall throw. The aftermarket (Billet/Plus 2) model kit, however, reduces all the way up to 44% of the fully stock shifter throw.
