Susan, what wonderful content. This is only the second video of yours I've seen and you are a wonderful interviewer. You ask the questions that need to be asked and you don't interrupt the person giving the answer. Wonderful interviewer you are and amazingly needed content. Amen.

Restrict calories and exercise, for sure! However if you really want to have progress you WILL need a structured diet too. It is way more important than exercises alone, because it is the only proven way to get rid of fat cells in your body. Exercising can make your abs stronger, but they will be covered with a layer of fat (unless your BF is <12%). Currently following a diet plan I got from the website OnlyMeal. So far it goes very well. It also comes with a workout plan, and you can also enter your weight each day so that your calorie intake meets the target weight you set for yourself.

I was advised to only weigh yourself once a week because your body weight is constantly changing through out the day because of the way the body works. But it’s tempting to do say if you got a scale near you!

I'm 37, eat healthy-ish, and don't exercise. My resting heart rate is around 50 bpm. However, today I registered a 38. My neurologist said that she'll monitor it and see me in 6 weeks. I don't know though. I may have to monitor it myself just to be sure. I'm always tired, but I'm also lazy, that's why I don't exercise. 😅🤷🏻♀️

Dr. Wilde. I don't expect you to help me personally. But i crashed my mtn bike at the beginning of covid. It took me two years to find out i did break my wrist. Its been five years now. Ive gained over 100lbs because i cant ride my bike, bench press or really work with any weights. I can hardly open doors ore use tv remotes. I am a broke uninsured photographer. Is there anyone or organization you cant point me to get help? Please? I cant keep living like this!

I recently lost about 45 pounds without special foods or expensive drugs. The keys were diet, discipline, and moderate exercise. I ate all the same foods I had been eating, but in slightly smaller amounts. I stopped drinking 2 or 3 cans of soft drinks per day, walking at least 2 miles a day, and exercise with light weights. Over 4 months I went from 176 pounds to 131. I went from a 38 inch waist to 32. I'm 75yrs old and 5' 3". The only major expense was buying all new clothes.

Take 600 mg of Benfotiamine (B1). Things that deplete B1 are sugar, white flour, white rice. Don't eat any thing starchy after lunch.

I first learned my heart rate in 3rd grade math/science class. It is 124 BPM. It went down for a few years after i had my children, 90BPM. But eventually went back up to Normal 124BPM. I also have extremely low blood pressure. I've gone to different doctors about it over the years. Maybe because I am poor, they all told me the same, after a few minutes, they couldn't find anything wrong. They tell me to eat more salt for my blood pressure and to stand and move slower for lightheadedness and blackouts. Now I have grandchildren, and day-to-day activities are becoming too strenuous for my heart. I get overworked and my heart starts beating so fast it starts to palpitate. Almost had a heart attack today, and all i did was try to rack the front yard. Ended up having to lay flat in bed all afternoon tell my chest and back relaxed. My insides are still shaking.

A lot of truth in what he said, but yes, it still comes down to you. If you don't take in more calories than your TDEE, you won't be able to gain permanent weight. Math can't be refuted.
