Wow!! This is so crazy, my mother used to stop on the side of the road in Louisiana and cut willows to bring home and put in her vase. She did it every year. I’ve never heard anyone else say they did that lol

I think you did an absolutely amazing job on your little chair. I love it. ❤ I just wish you could have shown us how much paint you used for the stencil and demonstrated the actual procedure. I am just not good at guessing at how that miracle happened. I plan on using similar colors you picked out and using the same stencil. I want to do this on a complete set of ratton furniture I bought on FB Marketplace. I am so excited about getting this done over the winter months. Is the stencil paint also a chalked base paint? Or does it matter since it's covering a chalk base? Just a couple of questions, I was wondering about. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your mini masterpiece. ❤ ❤❤❤

Please, please, please - A cheat sheet in the form of a book/pamphlet!! I watch all of the videos but forget how different products can be used together and what the final look/finish can/will be. I am an at home DIYer and buy products to finish individual projects. I have product left after I finish and over time it's impossible to remember what I can create without rewatching every video. Anyway, just a suggestion and thank you for all you do to give us ways to give new life to old furniture.

Lady you’re confusing your audience by calling it golf leaf. It’s Imitation gold leaf. Actually it’s made of brass.
@lindz91615 күн бұрын
I doubt anyone is confused. I think you just wanted to be condescending. No one continuously use the word "Imitation" every time they're talking about gilding. It's pretty much a given.

Rabbit skin glue. Restorers still use it today.

Is there a right and wrong side of gold leaf? Can gold leaf be sealed with water based sealer?
@omni161015 күн бұрын
No. Water oxidizes the stuff she’s using. It’s not really gold leaf but made of brass. 😂😊
@3_364515 күн бұрын
U could cut the leaf pack, watch a professional gold leaf frame preservation using static to lift the leaf it's fascinating
@omni161015 күн бұрын
Restorers use REAL GOLD LEAF. She’s using phony (brass) leaf. Huge difference. Gold leaf melts when touched. This stuff doesn’t.

Do you think a squeegee would work? Instead of an eraser? Just came across your channel and it has sparked many ideas and answered a lot of questions. Thankful! Also.. do you think a thin coat of epoxy could be applied over for protection?
@amyhowardathome15 күн бұрын
You can cut a squeegee the same way so yes it would work! Yes you could use a thin coat of epoxy to seal it!

This was so helpful, thank you! Would you also consider a class on how to paint granite? We have two different granites in our home, both of which clash horribly with everything else. I've read all about doing an epoxy coating, but that doesn't work when the granite backsplash is 24" high. Also, epoxy is known to yellow over time, especially for areas like ours that are in bright sunlight, and especially the lighter colors, which is what we'd like to use. For those reasons, we are leaning towards painting the granite, as we are not in a position to replace all of these counters. There are some kits available at the big box stores, but most of the reviews were submitted in response to a promotion - and therefore aren't very trustworthy. I'd love to hear from the experts at AHAH about how best to complete this project. Thanks!
