I miss my old friend Scotty plumber we were best friends in elementary school 3 Rs We used to always have sleepovers at each other’s houses as little kids I remember one time we went on the streets of San Francisco around the corner by his house and stoped at the shoeshine guy black fellow and Scotty played his banjo and I was singing couldn’t sing well, but I it was fun I still have old memorabilia photos

I was his seat mate when we both attended Jameson Hall in San Rafael!!! We're talking early to mid-70s. Such a joy to watch him perform. He was an extra in "The Cowboys", too. Brought back a head shot of John Wayne. He wrote on it, Dear Donna, How can you stand him? Your other suitor, John Wayne.

Thank you for keeping Scotty’s legacy alive. I worked with him as a musician on cruise ships and still miss him after all these years I think about him. Scotty was sheer joy in everything he did.

Never a "country picker," he was a sophisticated jazz musician who happened to play banjo. It's easy to surmise that he was originally a jazz guitarist. Same as Bela Fleck today, but Peabody may have been even greater. He was most likely the greatest banjo virtuoso of all time. Expanded the possibilities of the instrument, much like Jascha Heifetz on violin or Art Tatum on piano. I saw him playing solo banjo at the Elks club w/ my father in 1962. I'll never forget it!

It's the other way around. The plectrum banjo was the standard accompaniment instrument for jazz bands until the 1930s, when it was replaced by the new archtop guitar. At that time, many banjo players switched over.

I went to school with Scotty Plummer. San Francisco. Kitteridge school. I remember him playing "Raindrops" outside the Emporium store in Stonestown when it was an open-air mall. One of the nicest people you'd ever hope to meet. And talent coming out of his pores.

I would like to say that anyone who is a classical banjo musician or a real serious musician.harry reser was truely the most greatest of them all.being a concert violinist and a tenor player myself my hat is off to this God given master for his precise forward key to the door of banjo playing .Harry rest in peice and the world is different without you.
