I wanted to take a moment to thank you for filming this. For close to 50 years I would drive this route from Merced to visit the park on a regular basis. Now due to my age and ever increasing restrictions for park visitors, I've only been able to viisit two or three times in the last five years. Until I'm able to make this trip again, your video helps brings back many memories. Thank you again..

My grandfather had bought three farms in my country. His kids sold them. I was really disappointed because people just don't understand the importance of legacy and generational wealth. I'll show my kids this video.

Hwy 140 indeed is an easier route than Hwy 120. It's also more scenic! It follows the Merced river which is really beautiful. Leaving Yosemite, definitely take 140 if your afraid of heights as the 120 route descends along cliff edges which will make you grip the steering wheel a lot tighter..

Awesome saves me the trouble of making one myself. Oh look, it is possible guardrails on the side of a Switchback Road. Unlike freaking 120. It's not hide that bothers me, it's precariousness that does

Yes, 120 is very scary. Especially if you're not accustomed to driving on mountain roads. 140 is by far easier and much safer!

Hi Rick - You're welcome. I've driven a lot of mountain roads and this route seemed one of the safest. From my experience, definitely the easier of the two main routes into the park.

I took this trip last summer some days you are on the train more than 10-12 hours so when you arrive at the great destinations you read about most things are CLOSED Another thing they don't tell you until you are on the train 95% of the other trains you will see have the right of way so this can put you on a side track for significant amount of time...
