I totally understand where you're coming from. I used to think the exact way as you until I started to tell myself I'm number one ! If I dont look after myself who will , the answer is nobody ! Therefore I now take all the necessary sick days and mental health days and I feel good about it ! Great message and topic thank you for sharing ! Rest , recharge and recoupe ! 💪👍🙏

I never know what being able to *_"play the guitar"_* actually means? Can I play a few songs I've learned off YT well? Yeah sure, a few as well as the original recording. Do I understand what I'm doing, how it all works & could I, off the top of my head, do a run like Alex Lifeson or Jimmy Page? Not on your life! 😕

my big mistake was losing interest and because i stop playing like 7 years ago my skill i had when i first learn is now gone i cant play the song i use to play anymore i thought can pick it back up but you cant its the oposit i have to star all over again

I agree with the points made by you, but the main problem is the unavailability of regional language(Kannada, Marathi, Telugu.........) books on e - reader. Biggest drawback for me as an Indian

I've been playing for years now and I still suck. I really wish I knew how to do it in a way that would result in quicker progress. The other thing that sucks about guitar is when you hit a wall and it seems like you can play every day and not actually progress or get better at it.

Fingers hurt "from" the callouses? They hurt really bad and bleed UNTIL you develop callouses that's when the pain starts to ease.Don't learn on an electric guitar alone, get a decent steel stringed dreadnought have it set up by an expert and play all day every day. but don't just play electric as you're hands won't get strong and when you decide to play an acoustic it'll feel like you're starting all over again. Callouses developed from playing electric guitars will be soft you need good strong hard callouses and hands and fingers that can crush steel beer cans. There's nothing like the feeling of having hands like that.

Anyone saying not to take a day off is a fool. This way of thinking is silly. You’re not impressing anyone by being a mule. Work or money won’t be important when you’re on your death bed. You weren’t put on this planet to work, pay bills and die. Stop feeding into consumerism and capitalism and take care of yourself. As soon as something happens to you, you’ll be replaced immediately. Think about that. If you can’t afford to take a day off, start reducing your expenses or figure out how to increase your income online so that you’re not relying on one stream of income. You don’t have to ask anyone to breath, you don’t have to ask anyone to take the time that you need for YOU.

It seems like you need a separate miniature brain for each hand to be doing completely different things from one another, whilst your wrists are in horribly uncomfortable positions.
