All right then. That was a killer performance. Unfortunately, the average fan can't tell the difference from a great performance and a complete trainwreck.

This is a TV studio. Is it the set they did for the OGWT in 1984?

The 12" with these 2 songs could've been the greatest ever if the other b-side had been a banger.

Discovered this band in 2008 and I haven't been able to get enough since, they deserve so much more credit than what they get now. I rarely hear anyone reference them, and when I do, it's so obvious that current band is inspired and trying recreate what they already did... e.g. M83. P.S. Thank you Robert Smith for introducing me to them with your iTunes playlist. I bought everything as soon as I heard Lorelei.

I can't decide who has the better vocals- Siouxsie, Sinead, or Liz. Liz #1 and Sinead # 2. Liz is what makes cocteau twins phebominal. Needless to say she is smoking hot, too.

I saw Cocteau Twins in 1991 and I think she was trying to compete with the guitars. Her work with Massive Attack and This Mortal Coil, Jeff Buckley etc is some of her best. I LOVE the cocteau twins but to me she is what makes them so brilliant. They are mediocre guitarists ( Johnny Marr is the BEST) but her songwriting and vocals are amazing. The voice of GOD
@Telssa15 жыл бұрын
They may be mediocre guitarists, I wouldn't know, but they came up with a uniquely wonderful sound to complement her voice. Over the last 30 years, I have come to realise she wasn't the only magician in the band, How the heck did they find each other?
@g13flat4 жыл бұрын
@@Telssa1 Robin and Will saw Elizabeth dancing in a disco in Grangemouth and Robin thought she might be a good singer so invited her to join the band. As for Simon I think he answered an ad in the music press for a bass player after Will left to form Lowlife. That's what my hazy and impaired memory tells me. Are they mediocre guitarists? I don't know but like you say they came up with a style of playing and producing that defies being pigeonholed despite the best efforts of music journalists IMHO.
@charliez07711 жыл бұрын
yeah, I heard the live recordin of the gig and nothing special tbh (though "frou frou foxes" must have been a lovely surprise, but she didn't do all those exceptional vocal acrobatics), it's a question though if she still has potential to do that with her voice now (björk, for instance, seems also pretty behind her peak now)
