Why do the nations rage against the Lord and his annointed? - This musical take on scripture was part of Handels Messiah. One of two major works he wrote applying music to scripture. The other was Israel Out of Egypt. Question about the ressurection of the body. If our bodies are not just dead, but no more. Ashes, dust, does God raise us up a new body? Some people have convictions against cremation because of this. In some ancient beleifs, execution by beheading or mutilation of the body caused some concern.

Thanks for your comments and question. I have no concerns about God's ability to raise cremated bodies or decomposed bodies from the dust or ash, if will be his will. God created all things from no things, so he's got a head start, if you take my meaning. But the real point is God is able to keep his promises to us. So, as to "new," God has promised us raised and glorified bodies-like Jesus' own. That leans toward "new" in a certain sense. But I would use the adjective "glorified" or "spiritual" bodies. See 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 and Philippians 3:21.

BTW this is a very meaningful song. Reminds me of my RCIA journey toward Baptism. My RCIA Chief Coordinator had made a video clip of our journey ( it was a particularly long one of ten months, and VERY MEMORABLE ) and she used this hymn as background for the clip hence the connection for me !❤

I've been talking with someone about the creed. What would you say to someone who says "Jesus did not go to hell". Is there a biblical citation that says he did? Obviously he did not stay there.
