Clock in in for work and climb up to the top and it would be lunch time. Climb back down and shift is over. Now I'd be stuck dead up there clinging on like that guy from Tremors

And appalling reply, but expected. With you exclamation marks. Your favourite word in your video is ' safe ' but your clients are not free of incidents, so I wouldn't bang my chest so hard Stuey !!! Oh and there are female engineers and crane specialists now, you should check us out. Bye Stuey

The film was made over 10 years ago … we only leave it up for monetising purposes … so thanks! We are still producing many films for the construction industry so thankfully our clients don’t share your opinion . Have a wonderful 2024!

i've always wondered how they build these cranes since i was a kid. do other cranes build them then what about those? how they were built? were the choppers used to raise those segments? after all these years finally got a little bit of understanding. still wonder how they build those ones in the middle of buildings like way way up. there's no way cranes from built-in vehicles can extend all the way to those heights.

So you still need another crane raised on what appears to be some type of piston, how do they erect that then

Can I ask why mobile cranes aren’t just used for everything? From what I can tel they need to be higher then the crane there building so why not just use it? I understand the use for the self building cranes but why use a mobile crane to build a land crane?

I think because they are more stable and they can lift heavier loads and don't have to move about to reach their and drop the load. Its amusing to use a crane to build a crane.

This still doesn't explain how they built a crane high enough to lift this one into place... 6:58

Weird thing is they had built the core then erected the crane. Usually the crane is first thing erected on site after finishing the excavation because it is used to build everything later on.

Stopping work is sometimes difficult, takes a good operator to do what he knows is right .when the Superintendent stands up for the operator . When I worked with cranes most of the people I worked with were pretty good when I had to stop for weather . Many years ago I done a bad thing , we were working on a new power plant all the iron was up and the co. I worked for brought the sheeting crew in to put the sheets around the boiler ar the 300' level. The first day on the job according to my wind Guage the wind was gusty 27mp. To 35mp . I sure all operators have had a problem with which side of the building the wind is blowing. This sheeting crew came up with a huge basket to install the sheets it was 12' w and 15' tall they had people on 3 levels to screw the sheeting, the sheeting forman over to my crane and expanded what he wanted me to do, I asked him about his opinion on the wind he informed me he had to get his job done , I politely told him I wanted his crew to be able to go home to their family . He bruised up my feelings when he told me did they need to get another operator, he told me to load the basket and put it by the column and his men were going to hold on and I was to lift them slowly 🐌 anyone that has worked on a power plant knows the boiler building is the tallest I started up with them it was OK for a while then everything changed they couldn't hold on the basket began sailing like a kite, I had 430' of boom whe I finally got them away from the building I let them down in free fall .I made a terrible mistake they did also but they wouldn't have if I wouldn't have picked them up .you can tell how old I am things were different back then .I told my wife about how dumb I was but it will never happen again. I PROMISE YOU FROM THAT DAY ON IT NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN . I DID HAVE TO QUIT A PILE DRIVING JOB I WAS DRIVING CONCRETE PILES ON A FLOATING RIGG I PUT THE BARGE IN PLACE BEFORE I WENT HOME AND WHEN I CAME TO WORK THE OWNER OF THE CO. MOVED MY BARGE ,I WAS DRIVING 12 TO 1 BATTER WE WERE USEING A BIG HAMMER SO I GOT MY STUFF OF,THE CRANE LEFT THEY GOT SOME OPERATOR TO COME AND DRIVE THE PILE HE ALMOST TURNED THE CRANE OVER AND PUT THE HAMMER IN THE MUD .
