Good video! There is a love affair with external pacing, and there have been so few studies looking at the efficacy of external pacing vs transvenous pacing. Given the growing problem of obesity, and likelihood of having to put a pacing pulse through a huge fat pad in front of the heart, the efficacy of transcutaneous pacing (TCP) could be very much reduced. This is a study begging to be done. TVP is a forgotten art in many ERs around the country. I wonder how many could actually find their transvenous pacing box if they had to.
