A quick story for you back in 1978 they had the Chessie System steam special so my family rode it from Cleveland to Willard Ohio and back.On the turntable at Willard there was a WM SD40 and they had a walkway over the yard and my dad took photos of the unit and I have the picture somewhere in the house and fell in love with the Western Maryland ever since.

I like those transition autoracks, when they had to start adding walls to protect the cars from trackside vandals, but didn't yet decide that a full enclosure was necessary.

Nice, Atlas makes a smooth and quiet running engine, I bought 3 of the Atlas Conrail U33Cs back in the early 2000s and ran them on our local Libraries layout, they pulled a 70 car coal train for about 3 hours and never got hot!!!

Thxs for the kind words Georgia Sun Belt.From what I understand the White Strip Norfolk & Western unit was a exprimental scheme they use I heard it called the skunk paint scheme.Our friend is a big Norfolk & Western,Southern and NS fan that he models and comes over to visit.

A lot of really neat power Ed! That SW1001 I spotted in the row of switchers is really cool! Really wish a manufacturer would make those as that kit-bash build seems to be very involved to do.

Hi Steve we need to get together one of these days by the way.Anyways thxs fior noticing as dad said that no one would probably know what that is and yes dad said it was very involved to do.We both say maybe 3D printed but highly unlikely a manufacture will do one.Glad you enjoyed the video.

The GP15-1 is a Smokey Valley kit , The next unit is a Concor MP15 with some Atlas extra parts added and the last unit is a SW1001 is kitbashed with alot of Athearn paarts with a Cannon cab note these were built in the early nineties.If you need any other info let me know and thanks for watching the video.

Very nice video!! I was so tempted to buy some of those 80s Macs but I have collected a ton of motive power for the mid 80s so I could still run my collection of cabooses!! I grew up next to the former Big 4 Dow line from Anderson Indiana to Elkhart yards and saw the transition from NYC to PC then Conrail!!! Go Big Blue!!!
