I'm gonna trust you on that one.....this year I planted some new types of cucumber and had a major let down....I planted munchers,caspers and lemon.the only ones that came in was the lemon cukes and Dang it I was expecting a different kind of cucumber. Hell nah it tasted like a regular cucumber.....I was over flowed with them.i gave them to my daughters to 2 of my neighbors and I made sandwiches and cucumber salads and just ate ate and ate.... .I also planted corn,zucchini, squash ,watermelon and cantaloupe.....I have picked one cantaloupe. One zucchini plant actually gave me 3 gigantic zucchini....and the rest never bloomed....so dang it I do dang if I dont

You need to add organic matter, composts, leaves etc Perlite and vermiculite dont fix the issue but in raised garden bed its fine

😂😅 No kidding. Put 1 plant in my front flower garden & this year it's full of Dill. I ❤️ it tho, much cheaper than Papyrus for a similar look, & it attracts pollinators which is one of our goals. 😊

This weeding video was very satisfying. I wouldn't mind seeing more 😂. As it relates to mosquitos 🦟, I spray, wear long clothes, have a mosquito bat, and I have an oscillating fan on my porch (which is where I garden)... and all that IS NOT enough to keep them away. I am sick of them. You should see my legs. They leave marks when they bite. Next thing I'm going to do is wear a Hazmat suit. 😢

You'll be swimming in squash before you know it! From what I understand, those male flowers show up first to ensure there is pollen readily available since the female flowers are really just viable the same day they open. Everything is looking lush! Beautiful garden tour.

I love your 'no to minimal rules gardening'. It's so refreshing. Some gardening influencers make it so intimidating. Before all these rules gardening was literally putting a seed in the ground, watering it and watching it grow.

@@fortunefarms yep, I've learned a lot but I don't have the time or energy to do all the tactics... 😂... Your channel is more my pace. I'm glad to say I'm finding my groove. I watched the video where you and your husband spoke about going to Europe and how that influenced your gardening journey. It was refreshing. What made you pick Austria (if I remember correctly)? The way you explained it, it seemed like you may have been staying with family or friends.

Why are you taking the seeds off? That’s what the bee used to pollinate. It’s not like you’re gonna use all that basil anyway.
@fortunefarms
@fortunefarms 3 ай бұрын
Because I don’t want it to go to seed yet! I’ll let them soon! There are tons of flowers in the garden for pollinators 💚

Did you know that you can eat broccoli leaves in addition to the flowers? Save some of the broccoli seeds for the next planting season. Corn silk can be used medicinally. Eat your squash leaves too... if you planted any.

Shade cloth can be as simple as going to 2nd hand stores and buying lace curtains, shower curtains, etc., that will allow sunlight through but help stop damaging winds, hail, hard rains, so on.
