Normalerweise müsste das Pirol Berlin sein der mit der weisen Schnauze und Adebar ist der Bundespolizei Heli der ganz blaue, weil Adebar ist Bundespolizei.

Nein, ist tatsächlich genau andersrum. 😄 Der Funkrufname Pirol gehört zur Bundespolizei, Adebar zur Landespolizei Brandenburg.

Ganz schön mutig bei den Abwinden. Denn die drücken ganz schön und wirbeln auch so einiges auf oder umher. Hab ich in KWH erlebt, als dort die Bahnstrecke elektrifiziert wurde. Und ja, der Heli war größer, flog aber auch höher und trotzdem jede Menge Dreck ind die Fr.... bekommen.

I remember a video I saw --- I can't locate it now --- of an Iberia A340-600 landing and parking at the old Quito airport in Ecuador. That airport had a shorter-than-ideal 2800 m runway at about the same altitude above sea level as the runway length! Not only that, the airport was almost at downtown Quito, and the approach was very complicated, among tall volcanoes of the Andes, lots of spurious winds, and on finals having to avoid the city buildings --- it was one of those approaches definitely in the "scenic, but scary" category! In that video, the plane landed well, but taxiing was complicated, and parking it even more. A tow tractor had to push and pull the very lonnnnnnnng plane several times back and forth in the small apron until positioning it at a jet bridge in a diagonal position that obstructed another gate. Now, THAT was being "too big for the airport"! (Quito now has a new international airport with a very long runway and a huge apron at a much more suitable location outside the city, and the old airport has been closed and turned into a city park.)

Das war eine vernünftige ILA! Die ILA 2022 war eine traurige Veranstaltung, absolut erbärmlich, was da für 25€ dem Puplikum geboten wurde!

Mir hat es auch gereicht, das "Flugprogramm" der diesjährigen ILA zu lesen. War die erste ILA seit knapp 20 Jahren, die ich nicht besucht hab.

Nee die von 2024 ist auch nicht soviel besser gewesen. Die ILA ist einfach sehr eingeschränkt durch den regulären Flugverkehr am BER. Deswegen sollte die meiner Meinung nach woanders in Zukunft ausgetragen werden.
