Great horn! I remember when these blue SD45s would come through on CSX as leased power around 2012.

I have been blessed to be the conductor on this train since 2012. A lot of railroaders don’t like this train and the high profile it brings to the railroad. I for one have enjoyed riding on her she is the pride of the fleet and represents our history. While we weren’t expecting what happened to happen on this day. We had 2 other very close calls. One at Carr and one just north of Platteville. We love seeing all the people that come out to see her go bye. We just ask that you stay well clear of the tracks and enjoy her beauty and power. It’s disappointing that no other business has stepped up to continue this fine tradition since the Denver post was sold.

Just curious, does anyone know the reason for the view-blocking wall beside the track from 17:34 to 18:14? It appears to be blocking views of a sewage treatment plant and oil refinery, which doesn't seem like something that would have either secrecy or privacy concerns.

Adding that diesel is a new thing. They didn 't used to do that. IMO it looks way better without. I remember hearing about back 10 - 15 years ago she was heading home and came up behind a stalled out UP freight train that was waiting on another diesel to help tow it in. Well the engineer tells dispatch they will "take it from here" couples to the last car, pours on the steam and pushes that train across the plains into the railryard. Plenty of steam whisting along the way. Until 844 came over the horizon and gave a long blast on her whistle the crew of the freight train thought they were getting "rescued" by just another UP freight train.

I do this for a living it takes about 4200 gallons to fill a train. Depending how much fuel is in the train it takes about 15-30 mins for the entire process. Its crazy to see these trains up close.
