I have this guitar or it's a bass and guitar and baritone at same 😂 time well it's complicated to understand what a hell is this. But is definitely not for first guitar because you cannot play like regular guitar and cannot play like bass so you have to really adapt you guitar playing skill to this weird instrument. But it's will good for crazy low tuning for Djent lovers! Or if you want make your own music that can easily stand out from rest it's also can be a good choice. Also all guitar pedals will work very strange because they not made to sound good with this guitar so it another big problem to build your pedal board but bass guitar pedals and amps make this guitar sound even more like bass guitar.

very complex review, thanks) I have some troubles, too and I used post EQ a lot in this test to cut some low frequences..and yeah, you need to suffer and learn how to play on this, but it's realy fun thing, for some experiments..maybe with delay, fuzz..for some ambient or crazy sounding low tones, something like this..and yeah, 0-0-0-0-0-0 is also sounds good))

These Genesis models are incredible value for money. Even if you don't swap out the pickups, if you have a good amp you can get very decent tones with these V7/8 humbuckers. And what most people get wrong about the Ibanez RG: it's not just a shredder's/ metal guitar but a very versatile instrument. The only thing I don't like is the oldschool block neck joint. I know I know.. it's supposed to be a ''re-issue'' of the original RG550, but they did some modern upgrades to it, like the volute and the multi-piece neck. So why not go the extra mile and put a modern ''All Access'' neck joint on it too? In any case, great guitars and I hope they release a Genesis version of the RG1570 in the future. If they do that, I will buy one in a heartbeat.
@worknrolla4 ай бұрын
All access is better, but that plate on the joint took us back to the 80s and make it look 10 times cooler))
@rsa4834Ай бұрын
Since the Genesis line is a modernized reissue rather than a 100% match of all the exact specs like you pointed out, they could have gone the square heel route yet choose the cutaway heel from older Jems instead. Old school looks aplenty, but fret access slightly better than the tilt joint. Still a great guitar!

Hello from the heartland of America. I just found you. I love Japanese craftsmanship with Ibanez guitars. I have a 1993 S series I love. I have in the past owned an RG from 1990 like this. I actually think the new ones are even better because they have the laminated neck which is better for not warping. I guess if I had to complain and it's really being very picky I wish they would use Stainless frets, but at this price that's too much to ask. Great guitars and they are very comfortable. I just built a strat with EMG actives and a Warmoth thin neck with Xtra jumbo stainless frets and they are so nice to bend with. I have not tried the Fishmans, but they sound great in this video and you play very well sir.. May I ask what country you are from? You kind of sound French? 😂 I did subscribe too! Good stuff and I totally agree with everything you said about these guitars. They are the best and a great deal for Japanese craftsmanship.. ❤ Best regards from South Central Indiana. USA. Tim. ❤

Hi, thanks! About the frets - I wish stainless steel, too, cause I had the Harley Benton Fusion with it and this is amazing option, but..we'll never have everything in one guitar for the reasonable price this day. About the accent: that's not french, it's just my poor English)) but I'm trying, I'm from Belarus living in Poland.. and my native language is russian, yeah it's complicated) Thanks for subscribing and have a good day (night?)

@@worknrolla Oh. I almost forgot to say. I understand that the Ibanez Premium which are usually made in Indonesia but with Stainless frets and great pickups, etc, are reasonably priced and the luthiers were trained by the Japanese prestige luthiers. I'm 62 and when I was young many many moons ago 🤣😜🤣 there were only Fender and Gibson for the most part and they were hit and miss for quality. Now that CNC machines are doing the work guitars are much better quality and consistency is better as well. . Best regards. Tim...

Man, wicked! I see your sensibilities, and I value your opinion and that wicked noise banshee machine off of that first. BTW, I possess a Japanese Les Paul, too! It's an Edward's 85sd Les Paul Standard, made in 2000 in a very rare solid navy blue and a 58 style transparent mahogany neck with sultry flames top to bottom 👌. I had modded it all the way around cosmetically, and I had hot-rodded it into my own sort of John Sykes/Gary Moore machine, electronically, with a ceramic Dirty Fingers sm in the bridge and a ceramic 498r in the neck. The hardware is a Gotoh 510 tailpiece and a hybrid Faber tune-o-matic with brass saddles for the bottom strings and titanium saddles for the high strings. I will be buried like a pharaoh with it! You have earned yourself a new subscriber, my man.
@worknrolla5 ай бұрын
Haha, thanks bro! Les Paul’s for life) mine is Burny in BlackBeauty outfit from early 90s (no maple cap). My respect for the Sykes/Moore and I had a Dirty Fingers in the bridge,too)) for now it’s Emgs 60-60, but the day will come and I’ll put a good set of Dimarzios, cause I miss the passive neck sounds. Got a question for you about Faber, I researched this topic, does it makes noticeable changes? Thanks once again)
@Foxtrot19894 ай бұрын
@worknrolla OH shit! Look at that. Great minds, think alike, don't they? Nice taste in Burnys, of course. And that question about Faber hardware (or hardware in general) IS A SOLID YES! This is the thing, though. You must first gage the core tone of whatever guitar first (the wood in sound and resonance). Then, I'll recommend that you then visualize the particular unique overall range of tone to expand and volume for whatever you choose. I do this by playing back my personal recordings in general and my trove of favorite players. Naturally, the magic erupts out of what is consistent to your liking. Then, when you go about researching/shopping for parts, you pay attention to the fundamentals of each kind element for hardware (aluminum, brass, zinc, titanium, etc) and decide wisely how you would sum up as a good mix of these elements of hardware (or not). Also, as the best educated opinion on this question, I do recommend strongly that you should dismember the entire guitar from top to bottom and replace it with whatever intricate combo of new setup. This is where the amp will damn near yank you into it, like "the Poltergeist"! (I wish I was kidding). The most optimal outcome is over and beyond evident to how you feel and what you hear this way. It's all a matter of changing what you like less and keeping what you like more, too. It depends. The wiring styles and the particular capacitors is crucially integral as well (its the secret weapon between atomic and nuclear, sonically). Once again, there's no particular best as it relates to what the players vision is for a particular guitar, so don't jump and think that Bumble Bee caps, for example, are the way to go just because they are in deed, awesome. Just check out online Gibson's 'Jessica' model Les Paul with Orange Capacitors and Custom Bust Buckers (alnico v? And I suspect the hardware to be zink infused with aluminum) VS. Gibson's Les Paul 1978 Custom Black Beauty (John Sykes) with matching Tim Shaw Era Dirty Fingers Humbuckers in neck AND bridge, and you will find the sonic resonance to be unique between them two despite them both being substantially high output setups. This is a good sample to research as a supreme place to test your taste! Try hearing these two for curiosity sake, alone. Oh yeah, on my modded Les Paul of Subject, I applied old 50s wiring for the pots with two $45 dollar vintage spec Bumble-Bee capacitors. The neck capacitor is worth, .15u, and the bridge is worth, .22u. Now, try to generally imagine the dynamic between the very two sorts of Humbuckers that I had installed in my Blue Les Paul? Simpler said, the difference should be as alarming as switching out speakers in a cab for the first time. I hope that this does you justice, bro!
@work_n_roll4 ай бұрын
@@Foxtrot1989 wow, thanks for the detailed answer..but I think you bring more things to research and consider) I checked the question with bridges and materials (only on KZbin, not in real life) and I listened a lot (bridges and stop tails, tests, etc)..The Vintage guys: "only light aluminium by 59s specs is good enough"...every other guy has the opposite opinions (brass/zink/blablabla)) I wanted to experiment and buy something from Faber, but after the tons of opposite information I just changed tune o matic for the new zink Gotoh, saved the old one gotoh stop tail (zink, too, I guess) and concentrated on the music, but I defenetly want to change the pickups in the future..I'd like to try the alnico 2 in the neck (listened once and liked it so much) and I'll try the 50's wiring, too, thanks! P.s - for my taste, my "go to" sound of les paul heroes - John Sykes, Doug Aldrich, Vivian Campbell, Randy Rhoades
@Foxtrot19894 ай бұрын
@work_n_roll Wow, bro, those big 4 are my personal exact "go-to" Les Paul guitar slingers! We must be kindred spirits in that regard, absolutely. As for my suggestions of different hardware, my intention was to just make you wise to the wide gamut of sounds that can be produced out of whatever combo that you could experiment with. I just emphasized the research of individual materials of whatever kinds of hardware for the sake of endorsing your own distinct personality as a player. There's lots of opinionated advice videos, so the ART lies in LISTENING for the variable nuances of each material piece, rather than following the advisors' opinions. Individuality is what bought us key players of all kinds, like Sykes, Moore, Campbell, and Aldridge! As for the humbucker scenario, I would recommend peeping out some Dimarzio 57 humbuckers alnico 2s, Seymour Duncan RTM (Demartini, alnico 2), and some of what Gibson has recently added to their pickup catalog, for some intrigue at least. By the way, zink is said by many opinionated folks to be the lesser of material, but the reality of it relies on the vision of the player FIRST and the resonance of the wood of any guitar, as each wood species and each guitar differs, let alone the different picking attacks of each individual players hands and style. Right on, regardless!
