What kind of digester is at the farm?

This is a very helpful video. Can you help me with a few questions: I have a neighbor that has what appears to be a manure pond 1) Are they required to report to the county details such as installation date, list chemicals used to treat, etc and is this supposed to be publicly available? 2) Who performs periodic inspections to check for compliance in terms of soil monitoring, potential high unsafe chemical levels etc 3) Is there a rough proximal distance where manure pond chemicals are not necessarily a factor for a well. for example if my well access is 200’ away is that far enough? 4)I performed well water and soil test for several chemicals prior to purchasing my property last year. Is there anything else I can do. My biggest fear are the chemicals seeping into ground water and contaminating my well.

Thank you very much for the presentation. I was particularly interested in the relatively low cost vessel composting. I am looking for ways to keep asian jumping worms out of compost. I recently realized I have jumping worms in my garden in the rural Missouri Ozarks. Hot piles can kill worms and their cocoons but after a pile cools it can be invaded by these worms. These worms are not considered desirable or beneficial and can do damage to forests and garden scapes. And they are spreading throughout portions of the U.S. Compost storage may become an important issue in places infested by these worms.

I was try with used bacillus licheniformis bacheria use for amino acids preparation but trial fail. Plz explain enzymatic hydrolysis process.

Its the hardest part of my job walking into a field full of cows and a few bulls. How long has the digester been back in operation now and have they witnessed any immediate issues? Also, have they noticed or thought about anything after the fact in regards to reengineering that they would want to upgrade in the future to prevent solids build-up? Their agitation blower line tips are incorrect for the application. They should have installed fluid mixing eductors designed for tank agitation with check valves to prevent solids intrusion.

Why don't you have any recommendations for adding water to the compost pile? All organisms need water to survive. Outside there is water evaporation from the compost pile. How much water should you be adding and how often during the composting period? How do you determine if the compost pile moisture content is wet enough? Wouldn't moisture speed up the composting process if applied in the right amount?

Why do you list your temperatures in C versus Ferinheight? How can American farmers use your metric data? It is a foreign language to them. If need be state both C and Ferinheight in your data.

Attention Programmer for the Nutrient Management and Planning Tool? Why do you make it so hard for the farmer to enter or interpret data? In a liquid manure system, you are applying gallons per acre not cubic feet per acre. What about adding another column that states data in gallons and having the computer convert gallons to cubic feet and cubic feet to gallons for the farmer?

Attention Scientists and System Administrators. What is a KG or kilogram of milk? You are talking or presenting your data as though you were speaking to European Farmers on the Metric System. Minnesota is not on the metric system and Americans can not relate or understand your data when it is presented in the Metric System.

That is scary how much detailed information the farmer has to give in a manure management program and how this information can be used by the government to calculate ammonia emissions and tax penalties coming soon.

The idea would be to cover the piles from rainwater and use greywater from surge tanks to periodically rehydrate the piles. Do you have any info on how much water the piles use per meter cubic of compost input? Any help is appreciated.

Even if it were neutral to the environment, I would never murder someone who wanted to live and never wanted to be bred into existence. We do. They love the mature larvae. They are loaded with nutrients and protein. They crawl out of compost after 18 days or so and seek to incubate until they turn into flies and mate. They will also EQ the other fly larvae on the waste so it reduces their populations.
