Did you use 3x2 Cls timber 38mm by 63mm? Also can this timber take the weight of a 46kg fireplace installed for media wall?

... listen very closely to me. Your ability to do a good job is hindered by your piss poor product choices. Fireplace from home depot? Cheap ass 50 inch fire tv? No speakers, no devices to further entertainment, no storage. Essentially a fancy box. The cpu in that tv is gonna over heat since you boxed it in with a fireplace, which means money out the window. Holy cow you spent maybe two grand on a nice place to put a DOG SHIT tv and NOTHING ELSE. Slow clap of the decade.

Seem to be all the rage But the lack of access to the sockets and being forced to forever have that exact size… Agh the lack of everything just stresses me out. Where do the speakers go??? What about plugging things IN !?? 😝😝😝 stressed!!

There is always access to the sockets, the way we build these means when ever you need access to sockets you can simply move the tv bracket

And what they don’t tell you is the tv sounds like it’s shut inside a cupboard coz the sound comes out of the back so you have to spend a grand on surround sound equipment and have a soundbar and/or external speakers around the room so it’s no longer all neat and tidy…you can all thank these silly unrealistic tik tok videos for that, the ones which are dressed up like show homes, not a single wire in sight, sky box, PlayStation or Xbox for the kids etc etc etc.

Thanks Ste for your wonderful insight into the issues faced with having a media wall. I’m confused why you would be looking on KZbin for how to build them if you feel so strongly opinionated about them? With Xboxes and PlayStations for the kiddies to play, we do hide these discreetly away within the tv recess, I’ll do a little video on that for you to see as may help you on your way to building this too 👍🏻

I had a question if there’s no studs behind sheet rock where we want the edges to be against the wall can we put some 2x6s in between both outer 2x4 and add another 2x6 overlapping each other and screwing those 2x6s on the inner studs to support the wall? I was able to screw top and bottom plates along with joists but I’m worried of it not supporting it since it doesn’t have those two 2x4s screwed on vertically besides top and bottom plate.

In situations like this it is far better to use expanding foam as dries solid. This way you wouldn’t need to screw into the stud work 👍🏻

Thank you. No problem with the heat as these fires are designed to blow the heat downwards from the front vents. The tv will not get hot at all from that
