what grind size do you use for expresso dark roast beans?
@rgruenhaus8 ай бұрын
You might want to label the jars with A and B so they don't get mixed up as it looked like you had the fine ground in your left hand but were talking about the jar in your right hand like it was the fine ground coffee.

I find 3.6 seconds, Grind size 42 and the 1 cup button works best for drip coffee. I also put my filter right into the grinding cup which keeps everything clean.

Great video. We’ve just got the Sage Duo Temp Pro with Sage Smart Grinder but struggling to get the right balance on taste. Can you offer any advice on the below?? Beans are espresso and fresh. 54mm double shot basket, non pressurised. 1. Smart grind to size 14 for 10 seconds to produce 18g of grinds in the basket 2. Distribute and then tamp to Razor height 3. Extract for 28s from point I turn to manual. Thanks for any help 🙏

I have the same setup. In the sage double basket, try 16g at grind size 4, tamp until you feel resistance (don't bother with the razor and I'd recommend buying a proper tamp), brew to 32g out and see where that goes, should be around 30s. I'm no expert btw and your beans will be different than mine but I get a good, sweet brew from this recipe at the moment.

Hi, my smart grinder pro suddenly dropped from the usual 14 to 6 settings. Does this means the upper burr assembly has been worn out? Does anyone can confirm this?

Easy. Set your grind size and drop a preameasured amount in. (Say 15 grams of beans) Turn the time knob to say “9.3”. Hit start and let it count down. If you dont hear the motor speed up and it runs out of time, hit the start again and watc the time count down and then add that to the 9.2 start time. You want the grinder to run 1-2 seconds once all beans are out. Once you are done and have a time dialed in, press and hold the TIME knob. It will lock in time based on that size and each “ cup” press automatically counts up to accomodate.

This seems more a comparison of different brands, rather than the different types of Ethiopian coffee, which vary rather dramatically from region to region. There is also a distinct flavour difference between natural processed and cold washed.

Nice video. I love Ethiopia coffees as well. I have a similar setup for brewing - same grinder, kettle, scale and V60 (glass). I noticed you have the Breville grinder set to 50 for this video. Do you change the burr setting inside or leave it at default setup?

Can further adjust this grinder by removing the birr and make the adjustment using the numbers. Its on the manual. I had to do to get 2 to 1 ratio within 25 seconds for espresso

I thought their coffee was okay and nothing special. A bit pricey IMO! I've had better coffee at the same price range.

What grind size do you use when you use your V60?
@davidmeisnercoffee23773 жыл бұрын
Typically I used between 40-50 although it will depend on the beans. Definitely make a test coffee and adjust to taste.

Have the same grinder, love it. Suggestion for people who are new to the Breville, cannot see the grinder screen when you make the adjustment.Also you could tell the number of the grind you are using for the demonstration so people can judge their own grind for their own brewing. Visual is the best teaching tool besides your graphs.

Looking into this grinder and the baratza Virtuoso. Is this breville grinder messy?
@davidmeisnercoffee23773 жыл бұрын
@zero9, it does have a tendency to spray some of the grinds at the bottom to be honest but it hasn't bothered me too much. I clean that area every couple of days. If you have a small hand vacuum it helps to do a quick clean.

Depends on your portafilter size, if its smaller like breville portafilter it will drip some, not really much, but if u using any bigger portafilters, like rancilio, gaggia or any other 50+mm, then all grounds goes straith to filter basket
