I like to think of each Zelda game as a retelling of a story. And in a oral or written story you don't get an exact map, places are just being described to you and often inaccurately. So the true Hyrule is probably mostly the same for all games but the different narrators place locations differently and describe them differently, with different sizes depending on importance and different details. And that explains why the in-game maps look so different. It's not science, it's storytelling.

We met the Light Spirits in Twilight Princess, which confirm that they were given their orders directly from the golden goddesses. We also meet Hylia reborn (Zelda with Hylia's memories) in Skyward Sword, who confirms that the goddesses left the Triforce in her protection. It's not like they're just hearsay Even by the time of Breath of the Wild they're still mentioned. Mount Lanayru is named after Nayru and Triforce imagery is seen everywhere. It's just not relevant in BOTW/TOTK

but if the goddess statue from skyloft fell to the sealed grounds that became castle town and the great plateau, then how is the goddess statue from skyloft and the sealed temple the forgotten temple? maybe the forgotten temple is the original location, and it sunk underground before castle town was built, and when it was moved to the great plateau between oot and tp it left behind a giant crater that became the tanagar canyon?

We totally have evidence of where new Hyrule is located; from the Palace of Winds in MC we can see two continents* one of which is continental Hyrule which houses the countries Hyrule, Holodrum, Labrynna, Arcadia and Calatia and the other continent that would become new Hyrule. *since we can not only see the entire continent of Hyrule but a huge amount of ocean and another continent then the PoW is higher than any of the Zonai skylands. I think there are different tiers in the sky all inviable to each other: The Zonai layer is the lowest then the Skyloft and City in the Sky may be in the same layer then way above them is the layer with the PoW. Edit: Hytopia is the north Castle from AoL and the Drablands are the east Hyrule island from AoL. So many of your placements are so far off the mark that it's laughable.

Neat theory. But like Mattpats theory on Link died leading into the Majora's Mask, this theory overlooks that the Hero Shade and Twilight Link are ancestor and descendant. A physical blood relation, not simple reincarnation. so it would be impossible for him to live in those woods all those years without that detail. He had to have gotten out of those woods to reproduce. Also losing an eye in battle and developing skills had to have been something he had developed when he was alive, otherwise him not teaching descendants these skills wouldn't be a regret. Also how does he get the armor in that state.

What if actually Hylia are the three goddesses unified, or more likely, the three goddesses are different aspects of Hylia? Each piece of the Triforce seems to represent each golden goddess, but the whole Triforce unified is the symbol of Hylia. The three goddesses also are represented by different color/elements: Din is red and her elements are fire and earth, Nayru is blue and her elements are water and ice, Farone is green and her elements are wind, thunder and forest, but Hylia seems to be more aethereal as she seems to be the white goddess of time and light. The 3 golden goddesses created the existence, but then they left "in one place" and then that's where the Triforce remained and then just Hylia appear, but what if instead of appearing they "took their original form" as Hylia. This also happens in some mythologies, where there are several gods that are "different aspects" of the same god. This could also mean there is only one goddess, she just has different names for different controls she has over the existence, or different people adoring her.

Hylia was a lesser goddess. The golden goddesses ' full title are the Great Golden Goddesses. Note, the part where they are classified as Great Gods. Hylia in comparison was a guardian goddess, like an angel basically.

So a video by Broseph LaCapque Ch. had him using the Great Platue as a reference for certain land marks. The GP being where OoT's castle town and TP's Lost Woods are located. All due to the Temple of Time and the idea that's where the Master Sword of placed in the past. Ultimately making the Great Platue be Old Hyrule. He also argued that Zelda 2's map is seen on the BoTW map. As if you line the river that's north of Death Mountain in Zelda 2 with the Canyon that's north of BoTW's Death mountain you can see that they match up quite well. Making the Hyrule we explore in BoTW and ToTK South Hyrule while what we saw in The Adventure of Link is North Hyrule. Then again that's what the Zelda 2 Map is called.

yeah. I think the locations are more or less the same. You just gotta rotate the maps sometimes and in some games the maps are smaller because the kingdom itself was smaller.

Soooo, the zonai seem to have influence over the sheikah tech in botw and totk and I’m wondering since the zonai tech and strictures features a lot of eyes if the interlopers weren’t possibly zonai themselves vanished by the founding king to twilight realm. the ancient hero depicted on the murals is hinted at being zonai, imaged with red hair as well, the theory is almost completely confirmed with links ancient hero aspect gear in totk having red hair. I know this is word soup and I’m lacking details but me and the lady have been trying to decipher this as we go play along in totk just who the zonai were, the interlopers and what influence they may have had over the sheikah and their abilities. We have our fingers crossed that the twiligh are directly tied to the disappearance and evolution of the zonai people

That hero is the mystery character, his hair can turn from white to orange to red. The other, and you can tell from skin tone, is the mysterious woman who is thought to be either zelda or an ancient version of her. Since he is where link gets his hands power, it would make sense that then, when he himself used certain powers, his being glowed with the color of the energy used in each ability, via the hair.

When you also realize the quest Hudson gave you is your guide on which places to go by requesting people specifically from those places where the divine beasts also happen to be. And making you go to Akkala, the same place Purah tells you to go to meet Robbie-your best bet in killing guardians early in the game.

I think Labrynna and Holodrum are actually located on either side of Link to the past's Hyrule. Labrynna is on the Eastern side and lines up with Lake Hylia, and Holodrum is to the west, and lines up with the desert. I also think the Mount Hylia in BOTW is the Death Mountain from ocarina, but from millennia of erosion and being inactive the Gorons moved to a new geologically active volcano and the old Death mountain was renamed. This would explain the placement of the Temple of time, since it seems its one of the only things that stayed nearly identical to its older counterparts
@bowenorcutt78

I have a theory of my own on the Temple of Time's location in Twilight Princess. This is based on observations of Hyrule Castle's size and location between it and Ocarina. You'll notice that in Ocarina the castle is a somewhat small fortress on the far side of a meadow that lies between it and the north gate of Castle Town. While in Twilight Princess, the Castle has become a massive citadel that is right up against said north gate. One of the biggest challenges posed to archaeology is the tendency of settlements to clear away existing structures to make room for or provide materials for newer ones. Usually both. I theorize that the original Temple was torn down to make room for the expanded castle, with the new structure being built somewhere more remote. Then time took its toll and the location was just kind of forgotten about over the centuries.

It's also quite interesting how the map has a similar shape to the Northwestern continent from Zelda II. The northwest section (of the northwestern continent lmao) Is mountainous with a deserted canyon making It somewhat secluded from the rest of the map. The isle in the northcentern part could be both the forest or the castle. Heck, even the shape of the map Is a squarey landmass connected by earth to an even greater land mass like a peninsula.
