Americans for democracy are sure going to be very sorry should Trump become the president. He will completely destroy democracy along with freedom and the social safety net throwing over 50 million people mostly senior citizens on the street to die in poverty. It will not be the America that we have come to know and love. It will be an authoritarian theocracy that will imprison people it does not like or considers a threat. This of course will be a very sad day in America.

Just what we need. Two more status quo political profiteers. From the fetid and putrid bowels of our donor owned plutocracy come these two political profiteers. These two people are not friends of the 99.99%. They are complicit drones of the plutocratic donors who own our whole society. These two promote and encourage continued acquiescence to our plutocracy. Democracy awakening? We have not had a representative form of democracy since 1996. As long as the SCOTUS blessed and promoted secret, unlimited, and legal forms of bribery exist, we will remain as cannon fodder to the robber baron donors. We must unite, all 99.99% of us under one party roof that has zero donor money in it. We must stop voting for our own exploitative profiteering deaths. We must turn our backs to the plutocratic donor owned GOP, Democratic, No Labels, and Libertarian parties. You with us or against us? Choose today. Life or death? Which will it be?

You mention the cost Texas is incurring from busing these illegals to sanctuary cities well what cost would Texas be incurring if Abbott did not do that. The New York mayor is asking the Feds. for $12 billion for the illegals in New York. HR2 is a house Republican bill that would greatly curtail the border invasion but every Democrat voted against it. Go figure.

I’m really dismayed she is wading into geopolitics with poorly informed opinions. she needs to learn more about Cold War strategy, conventional and nuclear deterrents, containment policy, the post war international order. The way to deter wider war, proven over the last 80 yrs, is not to show weakness and reluctance to escalate.

I was not familiar with James H. Hammond and his political beliefs. I did not verify his writings or speeches. My take is he was correct, if the oligarchs do not control the government, "just anybody" could acquire wealth, power or anything an individual seeks. I also believe one of the multitude of ways that societies fail is by excessive, or perhaps simply successful, top down control. The answer to the question of where wealth comes from has not been answered. Wealth does not come from cotton, or control of cotton. I am guessing wealth does not come from a commodity or control of a commodity or any form of extraction.

Thank you for putting this out on KZbin. I try to catch all of Dr. Richardson's presentations in addition to subscribing to her Letters. Each talk has familiar points, but also new insights, new ways of seeing familiar things and new ways of saying important ideas. This video doesn't disappoint. Her combined enthusiasm for independence, individualism and a common interest reaches back to foundational ideas of the US while looking forward to a more inclusive, more democratic government. "They" are not in charge, we are - if we can keep it. Thank you again!

She also has a KZbin channel of her name where she posts talks, just her speaking, fairly regularly. She also has a 17-part series of videos on the history of the Republican Party which is amazing and quite enlightening on how we got to the current iteration of that party.

Heather, I am one of your regular readers, and I so appreciate how you presented logic behind why you no longer give voice to Donald Trump's daily diatribe. As you put it, he's Boring ! Writing about him consist of 4 common narratives, on a daily basis, he says...Everyone is against him, Biden's DOJ is persecuting him, Only he can fix things, and as always, say something mean about someone. That wraps it up. There's no need to spend much time trying to understand if there is more to it than that.
