Hi, I really liked your video, I also spin turkeys bronze 708 hibrit. If I had the opportunity, I would order an egg bronze 708 from America.😊

I found you and subscribed after you got 2 Blue Cactus Dairy goats, I don't have any goats but have chickens and turkeys. I am 3 years now in the NW Fl. panhandle and had 1 rooster and 10 hens, now down to 3 hens, my son sent me an incubator, with limited instructions which says chicks typically hatch day 19 - 21, well 2 hatched day 17 and I was panicked on what to do, searching you tube and google for answers I ran across a video you did a couple years ago which answered all my questions, so I would like to thank you for that. The 2 are in the makeshift brooder doing very well, and a 3rd passed away in its shell and it is day 19 now, so I am hoping that stopping the egg turner early on day 17 won't mess up the other 12 eggs. Your video really helped me and took away the stress, so thank you so much for that. Have a blessed day!

The battle of not to or to wash eggs,I always wash mine,but some vidoes say when a chicken lays an egg it coats it with a mucus coating called the blum and that coating keep bacteria from entering the egg and keeps air from entering the egg pores.But I just cant put dirty poppy eggs in my incumbator.
@justonemorestoryfarmАй бұрын
Thanks for watching and reaching out 😃 I’ve tried it both ways and have had better results and the incubator smells better with washed eggs. I’m with you on egg washing. I am happy to hear you are getting your farm on!

Possibly. I find it to be the easiest method that I have tried and it is effective. However, if I come across a new hatching method I will be tempted to try it. Thanks for watching and reaching out 😄

Will you be showing Sparkle as a junior doe? or as a first freshener next year? She is so pretty! I'm sure she will be a ring favorite! You could even take Roly! Though it may be better to do when he is a bit older <3

Thanks for reaching out. I hope to take both Sparkle and Rolly to ADGA and 4H shows. I will likely wait until next year though when they are bigger. I am looking forward to seeing how they fill out and how they will do in the ring. They sure are stunning 🤩 Thanks for watching 🥰

This may seem like a really dumb question but i am new to chickens...haven't got any yet but hopefully in the near future. If all the eggs come from the same breeder and there is a mixture of roos and hens obviously when they are old enough to tell the difference...if one of those roos mated with a hen would there be something wrong with the fertile egg...like if a dog mates with his sister dog it would have defects with interbreeding ?

What leg is she limping on? I was a vet tech for 10 years. A lot of times we seen Lyme disease will affect the front legs or carpus( wrist). Is she Lyme vaccinated? I live in Pennsylvania and Lyme disease was a huge issue. I also have Lyme disease and was in the hospital for a week! It was terrible. Anyway… Limping issues in the rear legs could be soft tissue or worse case torn ACL. Hopefully she gets well soon!
@justonemorestoryfarmАй бұрын
Thank you for reaching out. She is limping on her front right leg. I am hopeful it is not Lyme disease as that can be devastating. Her recent lyme test was negative but we will retest if she doesn’t improve. I haven’t seen any ticks on her this year but with her thick coat it can easily be missed. I do put flea and tick medication on her, we have our yard sprayed with an organic essential oil blend to ward off mosquitoes, ticks and flies and I must say our flock of free range chickens are great foragers. I am hopeful that with rest and Rimadyl she will make a full recovery. If she gets worse, she will be going right back to the vet for bloodwork and x-rays. I really do appreciate your kind words and you sharing your knowledge. She is a great dog and we hope she will be back to full range of motion soon ❤️

I personally just use the insulating styrofoam that the incubator came with. It's not just packing material. Your incubator said something about that in the instruction manual.

I finally got my daughter, her first chickens as pullets at 10 weeks old- A lavender orpington and speckled Sussex. They are so cute! Tonight at 14 weeks, we were surprised to find two little eggs in their nesting area! First thing I did was look up whether they can be consumed and I found your video. It was very informative.
