Great video, enjoyed it. I've just started Pike fishing properly. I've only ever caught a few Jacks messing around since I first started fishing in my teens. I bought a cheap Abu Garcia Ultra Light rod & reel for Perch recently and caught a 20lb 7oz Pike on the canal near me on a 10g lure. Obsessed now with lure fishing. Never used a baitcaster. Should I get one? Maybe a medium to heavy rod + reel? Cheers.

I was in Connemara, Roundstone last week. Caught a beautiful pollock off of the rocks on a sand eel lure. It was beautiful eating 🙏🏻

Pollock is my white fish Legend! I love my fish to eat, I'm in the UK, We are an Island surrounded by sea and we have to pay ££ through the nose for Cod, Haddock etc, I've given up on them and buy frozen Pollock from Aldi, It's so cheap in comparison and tastes just as good!

Strangely perch aren’t that keen on taking worms in my local canal, maggots they’re all over. Had some big perch on single white maggot in the canal. In my local river the perch will devour worms like they’re the best thing ever.

Yeah one of the biggest Perch I ever caught at my local river was with 2 maggots on a hook but have never caught a Perch there with worms.

does the shad come with the hook attached or do you need to attach one? If not, how do I attach one? & how do I attach the lure itself to my line? (New to fishing so I’m unsure on how to attach lures without a swivel or splitring)

Thanks for the comment Ben, I believe those Shads come pre-rigged with a hook. Check out www.castnorthangling.com for lots of different Lures and also stingers to rig the Lures up 👍
