The toggle switches have a little notch on the thread (on the neck of the toggle switches) . You can design that notch into the panel to help you align the toggle switches and makes it waaaaaay easier to align and install. You'd have to draw it in sketch mode and extrude since the hole function you use does not have that functionality. Hope that makes sense if you wanna try it out for future panels. Happy building and welcome to he rabbit hole that is simpt building!
@msboi1218Күн бұрын
Yeah I did that on my f18 panel but it completely slipped my mind on this one! I managed to do it with the hole by doing just a rectangle sketch and extruding it down through the hole. Can’t say how strong it would be but it worked lol. I’ll make sure to mention that in the next video!

@msboi121817 күн бұрын
Yes indeed! The Logitech pedals work ok, I had to use some different bolts to mount it to the sim seat though. Everything is plug and play for the most part. The F18 specific panels from winning Automatically map most of the functions but you can always change them if need be. The only thing thats a little more difficult is getting the screens with the Top Gun MIPs to play with DCS. You just basically use them as external monitors and the software configures the rest. you have options for which plane you're flying too. They're pretty dim out of the box but you can boost the brightness doing some tricks with Reshade. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

It didn't "fly over" the USSR - it's design allowed to to fly high and fast close to the borders, so within friendly countries, and look into the Soviet Union. Obvs the U2 that was shot down led to this approach. Re fuel - yes it had to refuel - fuel was also used as cooling for the aircraft too. Re going fast, the cones at the front of the engines managed the airflow as air got thinner and faster allowing them to still operate.

Yes! The afterburners light with a green glow. The flash point of JP8 was too low to adequately light the afterburners with the exhaust temperature alone/a normal igniter. The green flash is tri-ethyl-borine (TEB) which has a low flash point but high burn temperature, high enough to light the burners!

i heard one of the reasons they had to refuel it in-flight after takeoff was due to all the leakage. crazy
@olekundbolek91604 ай бұрын
They refueled beacuse a full tank would brake the tyres at takeoff roll. The leakage was not so huge that it needed to refuel after takeoff. It was more dripping and it was counted by the engineers before flights. If it was not in tolerance the mechanics need to seal it again and that was a nightmare for them. A full tank was a hard condition for go MACH 3+. Without a full tank it was limited to MACH 2.6 (Nitrogen system was the reason).

PLEASE READ! I was planning on getting the WinWing TOP GUN MIPS set, but I am concerned about whether it will work with the F-16 and/or other aircraft in DCS World. Any info would be extremely helpful & appreciated I'm getting ready to get a gaming chair cockpit. I'm talking like the kind with the leather recliner, massage chair that reclines to 170 degrees, the monitor arm is independently controlled so it can be raised, lowered, forward & backward. I'm putting a 49" Ultrawide Curved monitor too. I also pre-ordered a Meta Quest 3 (I sold my Quest 2 & Quest Pro which more than covered the cost of it). Should I get WinWing HOTAS, Vipril or the new Thrust Master?
@msboi12188 ай бұрын
I think price to performance wise, you would be better off going with the winwing hotas. My buddy has the 16 Stick/throttle combo and he loves it. The Top gun mips WILL work with the F16. in Winwing's software, you can choose which plane you are flying so the mfds display correctly.

If you want, I can send you a screenshot later today of what the software looks like with the F-16 selected for the mips!
