Thank you Donna. I bought your book a few days after Trump was elected. Meant a lot to me. I’m considering using your book for a workshop at my local community center..Can I do photocopies on your book, just to jumpstart a discussion on this? I think they will buy your books though, eventually..

Time to write this guy off. Any decent social thinker will see immediately how this is facade: putting shame about racism in the shopping window (the sins of others, preferably in a remote time and geography from oneself), to produce a universal image - and at the same time having a very disconnected elite existence from the real existential and material problems of people out there.

At 35:29, Dr. Sachs mentions Iceland as a well and wisely governed polity. He might, if he has time, make himself familiar with the origins of our fisheries management system and its consequences; the reasons for our absence from the EU; the economic and industrial connections of leading politicians and political parties; Icelandic judicial independence, and the decisions and actions, and the aftermath, of the Icelandic bank crash of 2008. He may find that the inclusion of Iceland with the Nordic counties as regards governance may, alas, be over-generous.

At 1:19, the doctor mentions Iceland first as a well and wisely governed polity, possibly because he is talking from west to east. If Pres Biden did get something right, why does Jeffrey Sachs feel that he must publicly give the President credit (0:25)? Biden is a war monger. He has much blood on his hands. He is a vandal, reported by an outstanding journalist to have ordered the destruction of the Nordstream infrastructure. He just saved three irresponsible banks by bailing them out with federal money, devaluing the purchasing power of our currency. Did Sachs really need to give credit to this scoundrel?

Hegemony of psychopathy. That's why it gets no political will. Look objectively: psychopaths dominate our world. This is being ignored. Now it's a puzzle... no. These people in power are psychopaths and sociopaths. Plain simple.

yeah well, without an interest free credit system... everything is perverted from the very structure of the monetary flows. Ignoring THAT is absolutely deplorable. Ask Aquinas. Or Aristotle.

The Earth is cooler with the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer. To perform as advertised the GHGs require “extra” energy upwelling from the surface radiating as a black body. The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render that scenario impossible. No greenhouse effect, no GHG warming, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming. Aristotle I never much studied but I read that on Mars Hill where the thinkers of that time met to converse and where the Apostle to the gentiles Paul (known also as Saul of Tarsus) was called The Babbler is the only one remembered in any way with a plaque to the Babbler.Paul used their altar to The Unknown God to preach Christ crucified, buried, resurrected.

MMT more money today as Jim Roger's repeats a lot. America is now still and began it decades ago to fall away from a belief in God of the KJV Bible that was always in times past the common source and common standard that all our laws were based on. The Republicans are following a perversion of it. Nothing has befallen US but what is common to man/woman. Killing, stealing, coveting, envy, twisting of God's Word has been happening from Adam and Eve through today.

American taxpayers dollars spent in Afghanistan came immediately back to the politicians, LOBBIEST, Raytheon, Boeing the other 3 or 4 weapons manufacturers, generals past and present most of this centered in the state of Virginia, a blue state. Afgani's got none of it except the corrupt, brutal war lords American CIA and military officers chose themselves.

Anglo-Saxon is really White Supremacy. America today views the countries in the indo-pacific, South China Sea basin as not on a equal status regardless of the strength of the individual economic and/or military standard competence. Leaders take for granted that they need America to speak and act for them even when help has been refused.

Any time I get a chance to hear Dr. Sachs, I take it! Unfortunately, in today's age of sociopathic capitalism, a 'Moral Economy' is an oxymoron. We see this with the lies of Joe Biden on the campaign trail: we're getting no $15/HR minimum wage; no public option, much less full Medicare for All; Joe Biden has started to criminalize menthol cigarettes and has no plans on removing marijuana from Schedule 1, all of which will lead to more incarceration; he has no intention of removing the 18,000 federal contractors in Afghanistan because of the natural resources in Afghanistan. Lloyd Austin is a bloodthirsty maniac in charge of the Defense Department. Antony Blinken thinks it's dandy to put Iran and Venezuela in the vice-grips of sanctions, which really are a form of siege warfare. Meanwhile, as we rape and drone other countries, our development aid--as Dr. Sachs points out--is less than 1/10th of a percent of our annual budget. We are the biggest exporters of terrorism on the globe. I could write on and on for 30 minutes about the two-party duplicity. As Dr. Sachs reminds us: there are 500 people in the world with a collective wealth of $13 trillion. And yet here we are in the most heavily divided economy (both domestically and globally) since the Great Depression. The difference now is that we have no FDR who is willing to be pushed leftward. It's just not happening. Joe Biden is a Republican by the standards of they year 2000. The US will continue to be gaslit by Biden and his collective cabal of professional managerial class narcissists and DC climbers. I don't know how we get out of it. Even Bernie Sanders sold out with the "unity commissions". Ugh. I do disagree with Dr. Sachs when he asserts Trump was the worst president in history. I believe the worst president in at least the last 100 years was GW Bush. He is solely responsible for the deaths and displacement of more than 1 million Iraqis and Afghanis; a massive re-institution of military DoD power with no accountability; the usurpation of the 4th Amendment with enhanced CIA power; torture programs; two massive tax cuts; bringing religion into the political fray in a way never before seen; and ramping up the international drone program. 8 years of GW set us back even further than 8 years of Reagan. GW is the worst sociopath ever to hold the Oval Office, in my opinion. And today the US media is doing everything they can to rehabilitate this political, intellectual, and moral mongrel. Trump was terrible, but he was far too incompetent to set us back generations like Reagan and GW did. Reagan, Bush, Clinton, GW, and Obama are exactly WHY we got Trump. Anyone who does not yet understand this does not have a solid foundation of American politics. Trump is a symptom of 40 years of rapacious capitalism, which was lauded by everyone from Biden (when in the Senate) to Clinton, from GW to Obama. These presidents are NOT here to grow and support a better way of life. We must understand that. They are ALL here to create a legacy and to do the bidding of capitalism in service of the top 10% of income earners and wealth owners--even when it means committing war crimes, which then will be completely overlooked by the Norwegian Nobel Peace Commission. Barack Obama deserves a Nobel Peace Prize about as much as I deserve a professorship in astrophysics at Stanford. He, too, is a war criminal. PS: This video should have 10 million views. That it has only 60 views almost a month after publishing says so much about the utter emptiness of the university class and the general public of the United States.
