I'm a complete novice here trying to keep my '05 Accord running. 297K miles. I've already done several repairs using 'KZbin University', but I have an oil leak that's getting the best of me. I'm going to try my (small) hand(s) at attempting these three areas with your help and crazy-thorough advice. Your one-handed camera angles, and lightning, are SO appreciated! I've watched other videos that left me with more questions than answers because I couldn't see what they were talking about, and wasn't familiar with it, not being a mechanic. I'm learning, and I want to thank you for posting videos like this to help me keep my car running. I'll be sure to let you know how things turn out. 👍🏻

Are you gauging a vacuum or a pressure?
@114RIDES3 ай бұрын
The Volvo it’s in is a turbo so at idle and part throttle you will be reading vacuum. Under load / throttle it will push past 0 in boost pressure.

After watching many J-series videos, I have seen how hard it seems to be to get good angles and footage while working on these. Excellent job on the camera work, easily the clearest visuals and explanations I’ve seen so far

Just did the valve cover gaskets on my 2003 Odyssey. Pro tip - go OEM on gaskets, had to replace Amazon crap after only a few thousand miles. Don’t save your money here, you’re already saving by doing the work yourself.

How's it holding up? I bought the generic motor mounts as well and I kind of like your idea of packing the caulking in there. Everything still tight?
@114RIDES9 ай бұрын
They are still in there and holding up great!
@mrmustache87359 ай бұрын
@@114RIDES Good to hear! I'm going to attempt this soon and I had 2 questions. Did it take 1 tube of caulking or 2 to fill all the mounts. My 2nd question. For the back motor mount (the hardest one to get to), was it better to come in from the top or the bottom. I appreciate your answer!

Pull the bolt out so it is just in the cover and gently put pressure. You’ll get it out.

After my install, my truck says I am lower on washer fluid and need to add more, but the reservoir is full. Anyone know what the issue might be? Is it the electrical plug (I think it's a float)?
@taylorvice161010 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, just changed mine out and it works perfectly!! I wont tell you my hiccups but they were pretty hilarious. For example, the electrical plug does indeed shower you once you remove it and have a full reservior. Also, people that are complaining in thr comments probably have low common sense, sometimes you gotta connect the dots instead of criticizing this video for not being 20 min longer.

Best video I’ve seen vet seen you are amazing, I have a 2005 ex accord v6 , my low oils sensor comes on and off, I replaced the oil , did a engine slug flush, added Lucas oil stabilizer, but I’m still having sound sounds which I would describe like a slow ticking, rattling , but not terrible, I think it’s a faulty oil pressure sensor Switch, I do have a nice old oil built up next to the sensor above the oil filter housing, but I don’t have any leaks atm , would you recommend me change the oil pressure sensor? Would that help , please if you get to read this let me know I would Love to hear your advice, one last note I wanna make, engine runs good but with those sounds I explained above and also seems like it’s like a misfire sound, I have you got all that, please let me know what you think, thanks and god bless
