Great video but I barely got the top drawer out and now I cannot get it back in. Looks like yours has significantly more room than mine.

During normal use, I found the drawer pulls out so far and then stops. But with a little extra force the drawer will actually pull even further out. I suspect this may be what's going on in your case.

I have a Samsung RFG297HDRS/XAA. My problem is the water doesn't stop flowing once the paddle isn't being pressed anymore. The ice dispenses and stops like it should when the paddle is no longer being pressed. I tried unplugging the fridge for 5 minutes to reset the control board, that didn't work. I shut the water off to the fridge and pressed the paddle listening for the hum I've heard described by 3 video creators and there's no sound at all coming from the valve. I was thinking maybe it was the switch but why would it work for the ice dispensing but fail to shut off the water when the same paddle is used for both??
@TheEmbersFromAshes
@TheEmbersFromAshes 14 күн бұрын
Oh forgot to add the paddle makes the clicking sound when pressed and again when released, so it sounds like it should be stopping the water flow but isn't.
@DIY-Saver
@DIY-Saver 14 күн бұрын
The switch at the paddle is just an electrical switch which sends current to the water valve solenoid. It sounds like you have a similar issue where the solenoid valve is sticking. But instead of sticking closed it's sticking open. Since you have a different refrigerator, you'll need to find where the water valve solenoid is. Samsung doesn't always put them inside the water filter assembly. You can find the diagram online by searching for "Samsung rfg297hdrs/xaa schematic diagram". I hope this helps you get your fridge dispenser working properly again.
@TheEmbersFromAshes

@DIY-Saver Thanks for your reply. For the time being, I've found that quickly pressing the ice button and depressing the paddle on/off is a work around for stopping the water flow. I already replaced the evaporator motor and temp sensor myself but if my fridge has the solenoid in the filter module as it does in yours (your fridge looks very similar to mine and has those caps atop both fridge doors like yours) am not sure I'm up to doing that repair myself. Am quite sure a repair person won't be cheap for that extensive of a repair either, though, so I've bookmarked your video for future reference.

That wasn't the case with my refrigerator. I did have an issue where a drain line was freezing and water collected at the bottom of the fridge. I solved that issue by turning the temp up from 35 to 39.

On a three-way wall switch the darker terminal is the common and the two lighter-colored screw terminals (brass) are your travelers. It is safer to connect the wires to the switch with the screw terminals (connect clockwise) and not push the wire ends into those little holes.

Hi Jazziez6467, I'm sorry to hear your paint has dried up. What type, or brand, of jar did you use? I used Costco nut jars and even an M&M jar. I just checked the very first jar I transferred paint to, 2+ years old, and there is no solidified paint on the surface. Also, what type of paint did you put in it? So far, I've only put latex paint in my jars. I'm not sure I'd try this method with oil base paint since I don't know if the jars are rated for solvents.

This switch does operate on radio wave and depending on how far away the fan is, it may struggle to properly turn on/off the light/fan. I've noticed with mine that every once in awhile I'll have to push the button a second time. It's been the same with the remote which came with the fan. I recommend contacting Hunter support (support.hunterfan.com) if you continue to have issues. I've found their support to be very responsive. Hi georgejetson4378, I was just demonstrating that rust falls of while stirring and painting. If you pay close attention in the next scene, the rust is gone when I start stirring. Hi DanielMaxwell, I agree too many issues with these units. Please keep in mind that I'm not an Appliance Technician. With that said, I just googled your model "Samsung rf25hmedbsg Water Inlet Valve" and it appears the valve is not inside the filter assembly housing. You may want to lookup a schematic diagram for your model to locate where the valve is. Then you can order the valve and replace it. Keep in mind there are other possible problem areas like the switch could be bad or the fridge control panel could be bad. What convinced me that my valve was stuck was I could hear it buzzing while trying to get water. That would mean both the switch and control panel are still good since it was able to send an electric current to the valve. Sorry to hear you're still having issues. I hope this helps.

@DIY-Saver
@DIY-Saver 2 ай бұрын
Keep in mind that I'm not an appliance technician and I haven't experience that issue. But, I believe it could be an issue with your auger motor assembly or possibly the control panel itself. I'm not sure how one could determine where the problem is. But, if you'd like to replace the auger motor assembly to see if it corrects the issue, you can watch my video kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5qrlZKnq9amb68 where I replace both the ice maker and the auger motor assembly (note: this may correct frost build-up issues as well). If you don't want to take the chance with replacing a part and finding out it wasn't the issue, then you may want to consider contacting an appliance service company. Thanks for visiting my channel and I hope this helps.

Do you have to put batteries in the switch if you're hard wiring it?
@DIY-Saver
@DIY-Saver 2 ай бұрын
Hi GoneRaiding, it seems counter intuitive, but yes, you still need to install the batteries. It's hard wired for the on/off master switch. Think of it as a remote recessed in the wall. One would think they would add a transformer to power the remote. Maybe there isn't room in the electrical box for both a transformer and all the remote functions/switches.

@DIY-Saver 2 ай бұрын
Hi lainaxoxo5633, just to clarify a couple things, your fan may not be compatible if it has pull chains and didn’t come with a remote or if the fan is an older model and the remote has a 9-volt battery. I see the only troubleshooting step in the manual is to “Make sure the battery is installed correctly.” Also, keep in mind that the bottom button on the wall control is a “Master Power” switch and nothing will work if it’s turned off. I would try the pairing step one more time. First turn the power off for 20 seconds. Within three minutes of turning the power back on, “long press” the fan and light buttons on the wall control. I suggest contacting Hunter support if you are still having issues ( support.hunterfan.com/hc/en-us ). I hope these suggestions help.

@@DIY-Saver Mine is super clean. I tried the following: - Tested outside and obviously the water rushing out - Using the compressor to blow the air through the outlet coil and the air comes out at the other end so most likely it's not clogged. - Plugging it back w or w/o the rubber, the pump turns on and I do see the water going through the clear plastic portion (only about 6" then it connects to the copper tube) but it doesn't come out to the outside of the house. I tested a day before and it comes out a little bit at some point. I am guessing the pump is not strong enough to push it through the 7' or 7.5' going up to the attic but not sure if it was a partial clogged coil or the pump itself. One would think that the coil is new when they install the whole brand new system including duct and duct registers.

How is your emergency kill switch wired? So that if it does overflow, it stops the HVAC and keeps your house dry before you find it by leaky water stains or puddles?
@DIY-Saver
@DIY-Saver 4 ай бұрын
Good question!!! My contractor didn't connect the overflow switch feature to my furnace. I haven't investigated installing it myself either. Since I live in Michigan and go south in the winter, I'm concerned with the overflow protection shutting the furnace down and causing my water pipes to freeze. Instead I've added Govee water sensors which send my phone an alert if water is detected on the floor next to the condensate pump. I'm considering placing the condensate pump inside a tray with the water sensor to provide more time to fix the overflow before it reaches other areas and causes damage.

With the cartridge outside of the unit, when I hold the metal bit and then go to turn/spin the plastic end of the body, the old one was pretty easy to turn. The new one was pretty hard to turn. I called Delta back and they are sending me a new one. This one was a replacement for the original, which they sent that with a new sprayer and hose itself, due to white floating particles we were getting with just this 1 faucet (pex plumbing for the whole house, and I have whole house filters, and no other faucet in the house had that issue).
