Hi Joseph, the MK-A6300 battery grip should work with the A6000, A6100, A6300 and A6400.

Hi Rash, this is only compatible with the A6000 system except for the A6500. There are alternatives for the A7 series.

Sounds like an interesting bug, the on/off switch on my grip just powers the grip's own shutter actuation button and not the overall camera's power.

Appreciate the review, does it drain one battery and then automatically switch to the next battery? I read some grips don't (you need to manually press a button( but I can't remember if that was with the Meike grip or not). Do you think there's any way to attach an "L plate" to this is eliminate the wobble when used on a tripod?
@geoffreymee76714 жыл бұрын
The grip WILL transfer smoothly over to the next battery when the first is drained. Does on mine anyway.

Hi, i used MK A6300 Pro for my Sony A6000, but i can't use the remote, is there any setting at the camera ? Till now, i still don't know what for the channel at the small display. and every time i push the remote, there is no light turn on. is that normal ?
@bigstick52785 жыл бұрын
That cable shit is the deal breaker, and why make the camera body larger. I use my A6000 for street photography and manual lenses to keep the size down. Less intrusive looking is my deal.
@mohsin_sait5 жыл бұрын
Some people prefer the better grip, plus it doubles battery life without worrying about swapping out the the battery. One other feature is it basically eliminates the overheating issue while recording.

I’m getting a DJI Ronin S this week or next and will be doing some field tests/review. I have the Meike Battery Grip for my a6000 and will probably use it but I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t work with the Crane 2. The Ronin S and Crane 2 have similar payload capabilities. Plus they can hold full frame cameras so no reason crane 2 couldn’t hold the grip +cam!

I've not been able ton find the battery, you might have some look contacting Meike directly.
@10MinutestoRouletteFortune6 жыл бұрын
You have to charge the camera via cable in the charge port. Mine didn't work until I charged it. Could be your model is made for the A6000 and not the A6300
@RICHIEXFPV6 жыл бұрын
Have you thought about putting the battery to the furthest side, other than having it so close to the battery grip door? I've read that sometimes the grips red from one slot to the next, looks like yours might be in the 2nd slot, so its not reading anything from the 1st slot, so the camera probably feels like theres nothing in the grip, its just how the circuitry is sometimes.

That cable is a turn off,especially that small door is opened...🙄
@joshsutton8046 жыл бұрын
Jed Teng Yeah it an unfortunate design flaw with the early A6000 and A7 series cameras that battery grip extensions were not thought of. Hence why these grips have to act like a remote shutter release and connect via the micro USB port.

@joshsutton8047 жыл бұрын
Hi Diamond First, These battery grips don't have recharge capabilities, probably a reason why they don't cost all that much so you will have to either use an external battery recharger or remove the grip and fake battery and plug the camera into the mains directly. Hope this helps. :)

JetSmackedPS Hi Jet, using EBay CA the cheapest one I can find is for about C $60. m.ebay.ca/itm/Meike-MK-A6300-Vertical-Hand-Battery-Grip-for-Sony-Alpha-A6300-A6000-Camera-/272689194149?hash=item3f7d8ae4a5%3Ag%3ABTkAAOSwhvFZKUqn&_trkparms=pageci%253A1da521a8-ad8b-11e7-9e23-74dbd18000d2%257Cparentrq%253A0525885f15f0a9cad5e32250fffd5aab%257Ciid%253A4 I think this is about $47 I'm the US, and here in the UK it's now available for about £37: m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meike-A6300-battery-grip-holder-for-Sony-A6300-work-with-1-or-2-NP-FW50-battery/332161839175?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20150519202351%26meid%3D5bed414f74d04710953fc24e2aee57d3%26pid%3D100408%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D13%26sd%3D162513069709&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460 Hope this helps! :)

I recive my Vertical Battery Grip BG-3DIR For Sony A6000 from the post office yesterday and it work well on my A6000 without any problem at all. Just plug and play. So far im happy with it and recommand this iteam.. But i do read that some of other user is not happy with this grip and it dosen't work well on the camera. But it work on mine..
@joshsutton8047 жыл бұрын
I'm glad it works okay for you, I too have seen roughly a 50/50 split in various reviews and comments regarding these grips about them working and their quality, so obviously you have been quite lucky. I tried mine out again one final time before I sent it back and still no luck. I now have the Meike MK-A6300 grip which works great, I will have a review video up about this one soon.
@walijumaat21587 жыл бұрын
Josh Sutton yeaa thankfully it work well on my camera. And lucky enough to get the one in good working condition..... Glad that you have a good working battery grip now with the Meike MK-A6300.. And i think it is the only good quality battery grip on the market for the Sony A6000s seris i hear and read from the review... But how the battery life inside the Meke battery grip when.you not using it ? Like the one i have the battery got slowly discharge when im not using it. Example i unplug my charger before im going to sleep with 100% charging. Then the next day on afternoon i turn on and check the battery level is like around 85%... I do read somewhere on the review people do complain about this matter that the battery got discharge inside the battery grip even.when your not even using it.. So i just take out my battery when im not going to use the camera..
@joshsutton8047 жыл бұрын
Apparently this was an old issue with the Sony A6000 series as well because even when the camera is turned off the sensor which switches on the EVF viewfinder or the back-screen is always on and thus draining power, but I'm not sure if this was patched out in later firmware updates. I plan on using it for a few months and then posting an updated review with my experiences over that time, but I can say that the instruction booklet suggests not to leave batteries in the grip for more than seven hours. I tend to remove batteries from my camera when it is not in use.
@walijumaat21587 жыл бұрын
Josh Sutton i see.. Thank. Will be looking forward for the review of yours... Anyway do you use any speedlite on the A6000? I saw a speedlite at the background of your video.. Im looking for a small compact speedlite for my A6000. Currenly im just using my DSLR Youngnuo YN560 IV at my A6000. But its to big and bulky on the compact system.. So im thinking of getting the Meike MK-320 Speedlite since its small and compact and the price is quite cheaper just around USD$60+ on the ebay. Comparing to the Nissin i40 its like twice the price around USD250.. Do you think its going to be a good speedlite ?
@joshsutton8047 жыл бұрын
Awesome! :) I own the Godox TT600s 2.4G speedlight, this is a full sized light intended for Sony DSLR cameras, but I will be using it off camera anyway most of the time, when it is on camera it will be with the battery grip for added bulk and grip. I personally would recommend the Godox TT350s 2.4G micro-speedlight which is reduced in size perfect to sit on the Sony mirrorless cameras while still retaining a lot of power and a quick refresh rate. This one retails for about £69.00 in the UK on Amazon, not sure about in USD. These speedlights have a built in wireless receiver so if you got yourself a trigger (the Godox X1T-S for example) then you can remotely use the flash off-camera with HSS mode too.

@joshsutton8047 жыл бұрын
Personally, I do not recommend this model of battery grip, there is a whole mixed bag of feedback across the internet with some people claiming it works fine, but many others complaining that they have experienced issues or that, like with me, it just straight up did not work. I will however soon have my review of the Meike Battery Grip coming up soon which I got to replace this one.

I have it and I don't use the dummy battery or connectors. I simply screw it to the bottom to extend the camera grip and make it more comfortable to hold, and bit less tiny.

Thanks! :) Not me, I was located just to the right of the commentators tower however, on the Saturday I was sat next to a guy with two Canon 600Ds, one with a viewscreen viewer taped on mounted on a tripod with a top mounted microphone. On the Sunday I was stood up, a few metres further back but I could get shots without the arena rope getting in the way. :) I'll have to check it out! ;)
