What would Doom.smell like?!

idk why people hate the combat. i'm not an action player at all (in fact i prefer RPGs because of it) and i not only caught on well enough but found it fun. in fact i would have appreciated it if it could have been slightly more complicated. it's a balanced implementation to the game because it understands that the action can be enjoyable but that's not what the game is for. maybe it's because i had better controls on the PS5 i guess.

I get the impression alot of the design and code was turned over to ai. Hence it's oddly incoherent and derivative to the point it feels more like a simulation of a game than something designed for and by fleshy people. It's a bit phoned in and the music is just classical music just sort of being played in the background and has nothing to do with what's going on at all. It's a very strange and poorly designed game.

I just played that first level myself and thought I was stupid for not finding the button for turning around. turns out it isn't me. WHY THE FUCK CAN MY FUCKING SPACESHIP NOT TURN BUT ONLY SHOOT STRAIGHT?! There even is a "lock on" option in the controls that just doesn't do anything. Same for free aim on flying targets...

Played it for the first time last night since it went free on Epic store.. My jaw dropped so hard when all the allied units on the ground started pouring in, turned it to a warzone and they'd fire up into the air to help take down enemies. Great game so far.
