It is unfortunate that ethical officers face such a complex situation. The risks they face extend beyond professional consequences; their personal safety can be jeopardized, creating a climate of fear. This makes it incredibly difficult to attract and retain principled individuals in law enforcement, ultimately undermining public trust and the effectiveness of policing.

I know I'm 3 years late but I wanna fill in some blanks if I can. You got close when you said his mom did not understand the street life he was livin' but it's even deeper than that. Polo G was molested by his aunt from a very young age and his mom kind of just put it in the back of her mind as if he was not suffering from it. He feels like his mother did not protect him and his siblings as well as she should have and he has every right to feel that way. He does however, still love his mama. But she has hurt him. Thus, him saying he felt like he could not be himself at his mamas house. He could not even rap, do music or any of that and be taken seriously. She was not giving him the confidence and acceptance/support he needed to become the artist he was meant to be and that hurt him a lot. He's also going through a lot of stuff recently though as well as his siblings that have shed some light on their mom as well. She's very manipulative and has her own mental problems she heavily struggles with and takes out on her kids sometimes. She just put a restraining order on her daughter although, I'm sure that's not the whole story. His mom did not give him the love, support and fight he deserved or any of his siblings and because of that the older ones him and Leilani felt they had to pull on more and be the parental like figures of the household. I love Polo and I understand loving your mama but I cannot for the life of me understand why he made her his manager. I guess she is successful at her job regardless of all her wrongful doings in their lives... but idk man after the way his mom shot a firearm at his older sister we would not be cool no more... she has him probably in a bind in contract though, their life is truly harder than anyone could ever even imagine. It's funny though because after she seen the potential she actually wanted to do something with him and his music and he bought her a house years back. They are from the absolute worst part of Chicago IL. It's called Chiraq for a reason. My grandpa had to work around there and he said before sunset happened he knew to be inside with the doors locked, he never felt safe and he never went out at night nor talked to anyone the entire 6 months he worked there. "Hitting licks missing school, junior year he thought bout dropping out." By Junior year he was so heavily invested in having to be in the street life that he lost sight of school. Basically, the streets they were living they had choices. You be part of the gang or you become another target of the gang.

I've said it before and will most likely say it again, Will Smith, as the Fresh Prince is one of the greatest rappers of all time. His storytelling is on the level of Slick Rick, if not better. His catalog is absolutely worth going back and checking out.

the thing is...Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff were not completely unknown. They were quite known in the hip hop community but this was long BEFORE hip hop was part of the Pop machine. This was before rap and hip hop was even used to sell burgers. Think about that. There was nothing in the machine that supported hip hop in those days. The MTVs and Much Musics were initially reluctant to support this music and culture. So hip hop was not a global phenomenon ...yet. The first time I heard a hip hop beat looped in a commercial on main stream tv channels I knew it was over. and over in a bad way not a good way.
