Bro, you're the only Kay demo that has a Buster Williams sound to it. Not sure if it's just the strings and setup or your style, but I dig it

That Low B string is rather punchy & it eliminates the need to have that extension on the headstock since they can be heavy.

Would be great if you could explain a bit the preamp (buttons) and switch. I have this bass but I am not a bass player (pianist/Percusionist) thanks 👍 great playing

it has a volume knob, pan knob, mid range cut/boost, concentric bass/treble cut/boost, and then that switch, that is low/highs boost and mid cut. is the Smiley face EQ, pretty standard these days. Thanks for watching!

I enjoy listening to improvisation playing. Some cool sounds come from that. Have you ever considered making music for KZbinrs? I am always looking for new sounds to feature in my videos.

This bass sounds the way it does because it has a variation of the Fender/Kubicki 9v preamp that was initially in the early '90s US made Fender Jazz Plus. That pre was based on Philip Kubicki's 18v Ex-Factor pre. When Phil Kubicki re-associated briefly with Fender in the early '90s to offer the FCS Kubicki Ex-Factor, it had the 9v pre in it. Nothing sounds like a Kubicki Factor and these basses sound like a Kubicki Factor. There is very little difference sonically between the 18v and 9v versions of PK's pre-amp other than more passive options. If you like the way this bass sounds - that's why. FTR, I have not had a Fender/Kubicki pre fail - and I currently own two that get a lot of live and recording use.
