A channel bashing corporations gets shut down by a corporation. Nothing suspicious here! I really hope you guys can get out of this because I really loved your content!

I have 2 of them. Walked into their store in Buenos Aires, packed them in my luggage. They work great! They need seasoning, but once that's done, they're awesome!

Cobbling is such a cool craft! It’s a shame that it’s a dying art. Local shops are closing and now the manufacturers are offering resoling and recrafting.

I’ve been wanting to try Canada West’s Chelseas. I got a pair of their lace ups and I like them, but I later paid a little more for Red Wings and they’re better in every way.

Need to check out B.C.-based Jed of the Cook Culture channel. I learned all about carbon steel pans from his videos (along with watching U.S.-based Uncle Scott's Kitchen). I seasoned my carbon steel pan in the oven (4 x) with grapeseed oil. I also got a chain mail scrubber and gloves to scrub the pan under running hot water. Carbon steel (like cast iron) can rust, so I warm it up on the stove element for a bit to burn off any remaining moisture. Re-seasoning may need to be done, but cooking with oil and fat will generally be enough. Avoid acidic food (stainless steel or enamel coated pans should be used with acidic foods). I also got a Lodge pre-seasoned cast iron, and manage it the same. I'm done with throwaway nonstick pans. Using these pans correctly means nonstick is never going to be an issue so they're simply not needed. Just don't put carbon steel and cast iron in the dishwasher.

Absolutely NEED a “review” of it!! So many pans are also SUPER heavy so would love to hear about that too!!

I thought about buying one. My pans are in bad shape and I am tired of buying throw away pans.

Do they work with Induction? I couldn't find this answer on their website, but I would expect they should. Though not all steel do necessarily.

We have a series of rags that we use for day to day spills and cleanup but these are for those particularly messy/greasy cleanups 👍🏼

Who gives a crap does towels. But seriously you can clean poop with a cloth and just wash it. Having a kid does not required paper towels 😂

Was there an option partially or entirely made from recycled paper? Whe have those in my country. Of course the most sustainable option is reusable cloths. Is it feasible with small kids in the house in your opinion?
@MrSheckstr4 күн бұрын
Break it down…. You get to throw the paper wrapping into the blue bin instead of putting the plastic wrapping into the trash bag…. And hope that means its will be eventually going into a pulper instead of being shedded into a mulch or even worse ending up in bulk in a landfill anyway(not all of “recycled” material gets recycled into a new product…. Sometimes its gets bulk tossed into landfill And as far as “planting a tree” tree planting is like planting carrots. You spread as much seed as you can fit into the soil but over time only the largest survive to maturity ….. they can take a 10 for by ten foot plot of land…. Plant a tree seedling every six inches…. CLAIM to have planted 400 trees and only the tree at grid 5,5 survives to harvest maturity

We started weaning off paper towels.... started using kitchen towels and swedish cloth (I guess I would describe it as reusable paper towels?).
@theresa3375 күн бұрын
I use regular towels. I have cut back on so much paper use. In part, it was a financial choice. Towels in the kitchen, car and front doors. Soft cloths for nose and urine. Flushable wipes for all else. One roll of TP for guests who cringe.

I mean if you really want to be sustainable, you'd use reusable towels (they come on a roll and after you launder then you roll them back up)

We use those too 👍🏼

I mean, the *right* decision is to transition to reusable (fabric) paper towels. But plastic-free (at least right there at the consumer level, not sure about shipping, etc.) is the next best thing, probably 😊

We bought some rags that we just wash in washing machine. So we haven't bought paper towels in a long time. Is that more sustainable? I think so but it depends on how you view sustainability. We might be using more water and CO2, but I view those as chicken or egg problems
@Stolidwisdom5 күн бұрын
But really it's easier to wash a rag than buy paper towels imo
@LeahandLevi5 күн бұрын
Yeah we mostly use rags for everything but there’s a few circumstances where a paper towel is ✨ necessary ✨

This was me when I moved out. I legit had to convert the price vs the amount of sheets on the rolls. Luckily I only have to do that one time haha. Almost a year down the road and I still have 1 out of 3 rolls left haha.

Sharing just for awareness, you may have had a direct need for paper towels, but I switched to unpaper towels/ reusable paper towels years ago and never went back. Use them to clean, as napkins, literally anything. Marley's Monsters makes a version, rolls up just like paper towels. Machine washable and infinitely reusable. Prob cheaper in the long run too.
@LeahandLevi5 күн бұрын
Yeah we don’t use a lot of paper towel but we’ve found with the kiddo there’s some… circumstances… that require them haha

In New Zealand, I want to recommend Allbirds, but because they manufacturer their material oversea and get imported they have changed their mission for the worst. Thunderpants made best quality underwear and were made in NZ, and someone I known said they worn it for over 10 years and still not been wear and tear.
