Those volunteers will remember this event until air no longer passes through them. You are not only building trails, you are building better humans. THANK YOU! 😘

Have watched all these videos. I have also spent a lot, a lot of time on trail and in woods and oddly I have not yet seen any of these few swatting at , wearing netting or complaining about mosquitos, black flies or no see ems … and they are all sweaty and stinky …how do they do it .l.

SMC, you are ALL amazing! THANK YOU for your hard work! MY first job when I was in college was on a wilderness trail crew in the Trinity Alps Primitive Area...so I know how hard the work is! YOU ROCK!!

This is one use case where ultralight gear could’ve actually helped so much. If they can reduce their base weight to below 10 pounds, they’d probably be carrying 30 pounds including tools instead of 50-60 pounds. But it’s such an amazing thing they did..

Kinda looks like a reality show version of trail work. Glad my crew is more serious and dialed in. Good work though. Stick with it!

If Vincent DiFrancesco has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Vincent DiFrancesco has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Vincent DiFrancesco has only one fan then that is me. If Vincent DiFrancesco has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Vincent DiFrancesco, then I am against the world.

Love it!!! If it wasn't for these programs I probably wouldn't of had the wonderful opportunity to work for the Forest Service for a 34 year career adventure. It's hard work , but the rewards are well worth it.😃

Very cool. Thanks for the hard work to keep the trail open. I volunteer on the trails I run and backpack on to give back for the experiences I get to enjoy. It is nice to see these young people out there making a difference. Way to go!

And maybe is a Commiefornia thing, but a lot of trail crews use chainsaws to clear blowdowns in wilderness areas in other states.

Was on the pct in Oregon and could hear a trail crew up ahead. I was expecting to see strapping young people, but it was a group of ladies in their 50's and 60s. I was so impressed! Wielding those saws...

If they did a documentary on my hikes and bike rides the title would be ...escaping government employee abuse: is there a safe place?

Kudos should also go to those interns who left midseason. Any effort put into this type of backbreaking work would not be letting themselves down as they, at least, tried doing something that our present society isn't always physically cut out for even if they are a weekend backpacker.

Volunteered with the WTA years ago and started the PCT NoBo in March. I'm shocked at how bad it needs maintenance and now term it the Pacific Bushwhack Trail now. Good to see this team at work.
