I read an article by Ethan Winer where he mentions this DVD and the “effect” of the analogue ways and that this DVD helped him to realise what was missing. I’m glad to be able to watch this now. Legendary. Thank you!

In a time where everyone was mixing on hardware consoles and (digital) tape, he did it entirely on a computer, and no one could hear the difference. He inspired the very best engineers of today

I bought this when it came out. Was way back when the online audio community was basically the MARSH, the DUC, Gearslutz and the W.O.M.B lol. Those were the days. Yeah, it's dated in its production/presentation, but still a great video with tons of practical info.

That's it for now. These two are important in their own way. The Charles Dye one, in addition to excellent technique, to remind us about intent when making music ("why to...") - something that became almost forgotten since 99% of KZbin is about "how to..." when it comes to music education. And this one for the visual guides - it can really put things into perspective for people that are less technically inclined when it comes to audio signals and processing.

I believe I could not properly grasp all the concepts as a complete beginner. At least my case, I need to experiment and complicate things before understanding the efficiency of the simple and straightforward ones

In early 1999. Not only in the box, but also in a garage converted to mixing room. Absolutely incomprehensible to mix outside a studio, at that time. He truly is a genius and pioneer

Woh - I had this on dvd maybe 20 years ago. The knowledge and presentation was mind blowing at the time! Hearing the song "She Loves Me" by EL after all these years was sooo nostalgic! Wow!
