When Rodney starting street skating, that was the birth of technical skateboarding. Massive Influence!

This is insane. They're literally watching the guy who invented all these tricks. Like it's not just a backside 180 heelflip...it's HIS backside 180 heelflip.

This was around the beginning of the evolution of Rodney Mullen from freestyle skater to the innovative street skater that changed skateboarding forever.

I was in 6th grade and Bones Brigade came to town, I actually talked to Rodney Mullen for a few minutes and got a polaroid photo with him. He was such a nice cool dude.

Just watching him when I was younger, he did it with like such grace like how ice skaters flawlessly capture the audience that would be Rodney. Not to mention his innovations that defined where street skating was going.

The skating back then was amazing, the wheels where stupid.
@jamponyexpress79562 ай бұрын
Part of the reason the skating was amazing (at that point)- is because smaller wheels allowed faster progression with a lower center of gravity.

Reem so influential. When they used to make fun of us for skateboarding being black reem showed us we can change that. Thank you for showing us its possible. 💯

It should have been Rodney Mullen's Pro Skater game series. Game mechanics and every trick were from Rodney.

_And John Rodney Mullen cast himself from the suburbs of Gainsville, Florida. After ten years of kickflips, ten years of endless championships, freestyle would finally come to an end, street skating, would be his escape from freestyle's decline. But it had not always been this way, Mullen had once been a champion of the Skate Gods._

Nobody is aware that Danny Way is the skate goat. No one and I mean no one has accomplished more on street, vert and mega ramp combined. He was a top level pro at all three.
