id-48 vw smart pro is not the right tool for the job i have found it very hit and miss, i always clone the original key when just adding a bladed key with no remote.

Was going to get one when they came out but didn’t now you convinced me to get another programer, who doesn’t need more and the price has dropped making it a great deal.

Why did you use the STAR connector and cable for this? It is my understanding that the secure gateway for this model was introduced in the 2018 model year. Seems like you could have added a key directly using the OBD port.

Great video. I did this last week. 06 Mitsubishi Galant. I programmed the key with the Xhorse mini obd tool. I had to redo it because it wiped the original key. I programmed the remote by running a jumper wire from the #1 position in the obd to ground with the key in the ignition, press hazard 6x to enter programming mode. I am unfamiliar with the breakout box but it would have been helpful.

First time I did one I use my obd extension cable and paper clip felt like I was back in 80s at the dealership , next time I did it I made jumper obd plug . At GM the paper clip was a real bypass tool

I have the same problem with a Hyundai Elantra at first it would work and then later on it wouldn't it just turned on the car

I didn't realize 2017 Durangos have an SGW. I could swear I did a 2017 Durango about 6 months ago using no bypass cable, but maybe my memory is failing me.

Sorry but your star connector looks like it’s wire backwards when you back-prob from other end with the 3 wires ground would be in middle and pos on right ,on latch side I think your connector is opposite that’s what I see because I was going to wire mine with changeable ends so I could use star or pins when needed. “ Green is hot blue is not” JG

As I understand it, the 508 can pull the code for push to start kia/hyundai but we need a third party for new blade kia/hyundai pin codes.
