where are the pings? where's the saw sweeps?
@joeymc52722 ай бұрын
Exactly!
@Éon-AD2 ай бұрын
Procyon isn’t really meant to be pinged, however you can send a gate to the resonance cv and an envelope to the FM to get similar results. I’ll do a video on it soon! This video is mostly about giving an overview of the main controls ! Concerning the saw filter sweep I’d argue that 70% of this video is filtering saws with envelopes and lfos in various ways !

@fuccasound38973 ай бұрын
those patch leads just get in the way. This looks a very ad-hoc design of synth, not very well thought out as regards the interface with the user. If it produced some unique tones and timbres that layout might be forgivable but nothing here sounds much different to many other synths.
@Éon-AD3 ай бұрын
Hey ! I designed the module and the case that way for myself first and foremost and I like using them! I find this setup to be quite broad and powerful in terms of the sounds it can produce ! With regard to the module’s interface, the main point is that the lay out of the pots allows to manipulate 2/3 of them with one hand at the same time which I like. I should have cable tied this patch to make it more readable but I don’t find the cables to be in the way of playing the system ! Eurorack is one of the most subjective areas of electronic music making from the ergonomics to the sounds it can produce :)
@fuccasound38973 ай бұрын
@@Éon-AD yes i guess your right about the subjective nature of the layout of eurorack systems and the ergonomics. And if the way you want to work changes then you can rearrange the modules to suit. i have used synths like the EMS were there is a nice tidy plug board for patching or the Korg MS20 with its patch bay at one end. Also i like (and i am one of the few i think) the Yamaha CS30 where the patching is done with switches across the panel, the options are a bit more limited but in a live performance there are no patch leads to get in the way of the controls and the choices are made at the destination not the source, for example the LFO has no wave shape setting it simply sets the rate, you set the wave shape modulation (square, saw, sine, s/h) at the filter or vco or vca etc. Also you choose the filter hp, bp, or hp, at the VCA, i know it sounds weird but for me it works.

Couldn’t miss the point more - this is anti-song music gear for most users. We feel such excitement exploring something new everyday that nothing could be less interesting to us then going back and re-doing or working with something done previously. It’s about the experience - not the end product - and boy is the experience satisfying
