What's that tool you used to slice off the top of the round cake to make it level?
@tinka396 Жыл бұрын
It’s a cake leveler! Makes life so much easier! You can find them at Walmart, hobby lobby, Amazon etc!

What is the inch of the cake ur using??
@tinka3962 жыл бұрын
I believe the bottom tier was a 12 inch, middle was a 10 inch and rope was an 8 inch. I’m so sorry it took so long, I had a hard time logging back in after getting a new phone!

Hi! Where do you find stencils like this? And what’s the black paint you use?
@tinka3963 жыл бұрын
Hello there! I actually made my own stencils from my Cricut Explore Air 2. I used cardstock and found images online and cut them out with my Cricut. The paint was just food coloring. I left it undiluted I believe to let it be a little thicker. Also a helpful hint is to use shortening to stick the stencil to the fondant so there is less bleed through and the inside pieces of certain letters can stick. I also had let the fondant dry out for a little bit before sticking my stencils to it!

That looks absolutely amazing! Did you dry your fondant before painting? And did you store it in the fridge after it was painted by any chance?
@tinka3964 жыл бұрын
Nicky Kostouli thank you so much! I did let it dry out a bit before painting and then maybe an hour or two before cutting them out. I feel like I kind of cheated using the cricut but it just worked so well 😅😅 and yes I always refrigerate my cakes and I’ve only had a problem with one that was black and white zebra. Sometimes boxing and taping the cakes and then refrigerating seems to help with condensation and paint running. But this one had no problem!

What size cake pan did you use?
@tinka3964 жыл бұрын
I think it was a 9 inch, possibly 10. It was a BIG cake 😳😂
@ODY03194 жыл бұрын
Do you remember what size cake pans you used?
@tinka3964 жыл бұрын
Copped_anODY I believe it was a 9 inch for the bottom tier that I trimmed to 8, and the honey jar was 3-4 six inch rounds and maybe a 7 or 8 that I carved for the shape!

Lubna Rafiq I used some clear piping gel that I warmed just slightly and colored with ivory food coloring gel and then painted it on! I went a little thick on the opening of the jar and lightly on the drips ☺️

When you use food coloring, is it watered down and painted on the actual fondant? It looks SO awesome!
@tinka3964 жыл бұрын
Marsha Lemos thank you so much!! I dilute it with a whipped vanilla flavored vodka. It leaves a better taste in my opinion and it dries quickly but not quite as quickly as everclear so I have more time to blend!

How made silver colour on strips?
@tinka3965 жыл бұрын
Ritesh Gupta I painted it with an edible paint I bought on amazon called metallic food paint from Rainbow Dust since it’s 100% edible! It comes in paint form so I just applied a few layers and let dry before handling!
