I just found out just now that Mike from Philippine journeys has passed away. Just had a hard time believing this. I watch Mike's KZbin channel religiously. Enjoyed him in his many of live streams. Since 2018. Mike has become a dear friend to me. I have never met him in person. But I see him as a true friend to me. If he truly passed away. I want to pay my respects to Mike. May you rest in peace Mike. You are one true friend to me. 🙏❤️🇺🇸🙏

it has happened both ways... some filipinas failed in their wish to get a foreigner husband, on the other hand some foreigners also failed in their desire to marry a good filipina... in fact some filipinos were actually able to migrate through a working visa, married a local (american woman), made themselves a family... an still failed because the woman was a lesbian, and when she finished law, through the man's financing, went away with the kids. it's a fact of life... some locals, who married a local also failed

The expat vloggers are definitely gaslighting viewers with BS. The expat vloggers planned poorly for their retirement so they need YT to make extra cash but they won't tell anyone that. Their content is always the same crap, they just regurgitate the words.

According to Sick Grandpa, Andy Omar got badly doxxed. Pics of his house and car(s), names of his girlfriends were pksted online. Comparing with KS, USA. Beauty and Healthcare stuff is expensive everywhere unless you buy the off brand. Tissue and Paper towel about 25% more expensive, ketchup about the same. Corned beef and Spam about the same price. Milk is twice the cost. Folgers 33% more expensive and same with chips. meatballs were a good price, the cereal is double the cost. That turkey is a no go. Way too expensive. pork prices not too bad. Local beef seemed equal to US prices. Just my quick synopsis.

“There’s this idiot that wrote this article.” I read this article the other day and just had the same impression. He seemed to just completely miss the point, like the trip from the start was done begrudgingly. His whole reason for continued riding is seemingly for the wrong reasons. The most minor thing on his trip, no matter how easy it could have been addressed with some forethought, was something to complain about and attach as a cause to declining sales numbers. Good video!

My initial reaction on seeing this article was that he was being deliberately provocative. Surely nobody can be so dense that they expect car like levels of comfort and practicality when on a motorcycle. It is so totally focussed on the negatives in comparison to being in a motorised box that it is difficult to imagine he wasn't attempting to stimulate ire from the motorcycling community. I wouldn't know what his motivation might be so maybe as you say, he is just a douchebag .....

I quit riding 15 years ago for reasons of safety. Even though my country has beautiful scenery and amazing riding roads, I've had too many close calls that have exceeded my appetite for risk. Add to that the local importers' associations focus on boutique bikes, crotch rockets and off-road/x-touring bikes (you won't, for example, find any small v-twins like the SV-650 in any local catalogues), and the death of motorcycling here is written on the wall in neon paint. When I still used to commute to work, there would be a constant stream of bikers preferring the speed and convenience of commuting by bike (lane splitting is legal here). Nowadays you will just see a handful.

@@LilMissMurder3409 I don’t begrudge anyone for adjusting their risk/reward analysis and making the decision about whether or not to ride. It’s personal and different for everyone. I’ve taken pauses and also definitely adjusted my riding style, particularly here in the Philippines. Here, without a doubt, it’s more dangerous and I’ll definitely give it up sooner than I would in other places. Age gets us all eventually, but the focus needed here is a bit higher. Point taken about bike options. I hope the industry continues to evaluate demand and consumer preferences and adjust to offer those choosing to ride smaller, capable bikes and more affordable options. For me a bike is a tool to experience journey and destination in a way I simply can’t with any other travel option. I’m going to enjoy it while I can. And I never find it boring. I hope you are wrong about it dying. Definitely a lot of enthusiasm for riding in SEA. Met a couple of kids riding Voge 125Rs last month in Italy and chatted with them a bit. They had that same excitement I did when I bought my first bike, a Yamaha SR500. This gives me hope.

@@tsinelaslife Something else that is driving in that final nail here - insurance. While insurance isn't mandatory here, you realistically need at least 3rd-party liability insurance. Local insurance companies here either flat-out refuse to insure bikes, or charge *astronomical* rates (my last bike, a GSR-600, was quoted, fully-insured, at a rate twice the monthly down payment had I bought it on credit. Needless to say, I saved up for it and bought it cash, but I never had insurance.)

Considering the SV650 a small motorcycle tells a lot about motorcycling culture in your area. I live in Northern Europe and have ridden motorcycles since 1973. Sometimes I had a car and sometimes a motorcycle but never both. Today I'm 66 and have a motorcycle. The fatality rate for motorcycles is 6 times higher in the USA than it is in the EU. If I was American I would not ride a motorcycle in the USA.

Big dog I’m new at your channel but everything you said is a real stuff. I met my wife online she’s from the Philippines. We’re about to get married and she told me after rip I want to help my family out and I told her I got you I don’t know why these guys keep thinking relationships are not transactional they always have been. My relationship is to. I get a caring partner we both care about each other. I get intimacy. She goes to help her family out and we both work together. I don’t understand why you guys getting mad at that. When you go to the Philippines, you have to understand it’s a developing country. And me visiting her family and her friends has told me that nothing changed like a shed. These guys don’t learn the culture. And that’s why they’re failing, and then not being real upfront and telling their partner what they want

When you have men that are still damaged either from their prior relationships, or from this warped society in the West, you will get this type of labeling. Life is one big transaction, for a period of time, men in the US were pretty savvy. Not so much anymore. Another thing, drama and discontent brings views. The things being presented on KZbin are strictly entertainment from my perspective. Some provide useful information, but most are there for the clicks and revenue.

So finding and exploiting poor women 30 or 40 years younger is a result of a "warped society" in the West, you can't be serious. If these poor men are so jaded by their past why are they flocking to a third world country and living in the girlie bars or spending their money on freelancers or even worse finding young girls to use and abuse under the guise of Filipino culture?
