Saint Helena was not formally canonized by any specific Pope or Church authority since her veneration as a saint began long before the formal canonization process was established. Her sainthood was recognized through the widespread veneration and respect she received from early Christians, particularly due to her significant role in Christian history and her discovery of the True Cross. This grassroots recognition eventually led to her being honored as a saint in both the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions.

The Church believes that God alone grants sanctity, and the Church, through a rigorous process, discerns and declares the sanctity of certain individuals. (LG50) The process of canonization involves a deep investigation into the person's life, virtues, and miracles attributed to their intercession, aiming to ensure that the individual led a holy life in accordance with God's will.

His grandafter king Jogaila was pure Lithuanian who was born and lived pagan life until accepting Christianity in order to be crowned as king of Poland. Son of Jogaila and father of Šv. Kazimieras, - Kazimieras IV Jogailaitis could still speak Lithuanian. Just because Šv. Kazimieras was Polish prince by bureaucracy status, this doesn't change the fact that he was also of Lithuanian descent. His grandfather was a Lithuanian pagan. Polish historians gonna ignore this because this fact interrupts Poland's narrative about "eveyone were simply Polish and all the shared history with Lithuania didn't exist. It was only Poland". Poland doesn't like sharing historical figures and give at least some credit to other ethnic groups who were in union with Poland. Polish gonna ignore 400 years of shared history and pretend that nothing ever happened from Lithuanian side. Even an ignorant person couldn't believe such a lie.
