I often think of separating scenes depicting these two characters and their subjects based on their type of rule. Saber stands steadfast and alone, armor donned, sword at the ready with the sunlight shining on her with Camelot, Britain and all her subjects safely behind her in the massive shadow she casts. Whereas Rider walks through the assembled ranks of his people and makes his way to his chariot at the front lines. There’s only a short gap between him and his soldiers, but they’re all caught in the sunlight and charge forward together. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but it strikes me as a good representation of how they treated their people. Like, Saber would’ve died for her people, but Rider would’ve died with his.

I agree with kiri that the battlefield is Hell but i disagree with him about the rest of his philosophy. In the past great warriors and heroes inspired people, sure they made war seem romantic but they also gave people an ideal and hope to love for , to better themselves and see hope in the world. Kiri in turn represents what the world and war became as of ww1 and onward where people got dehumanized to make killing impersonal and easier. Killing became a regular 9 to 5 because much like a drone its not something you feel anything about. Kiri style of thinking just makes a cold harsh world that ends up empty if you follow his thinking to its rational conclusion as we see with how the grail was going to grant his wish.
