What is your experience with HH abatement against crows? Do the crows sometimes gang up and attack the HH? Is it dangerous for the HH?

She is a German shorthaired pointer. Very high end breeding lines so she has a good build. :)

we had a Harris Hawk at the Toronto Airport back in 2001. I decided to pet its chest which everyone else told me was a brave move. Beautiful raptor, I had no idea the noise they make until seeing your other shorts, ty. Hope to see more uploads when good!

Poor bird. Looks like she's fist bound. You need to get her to feed on the lure and not on your fist. Also she needs to start hunting to take her agression out on game. Just my opinion, good luck.

Yeah, she had and still has a lot of issues related to her age and being an imprint. Thankfully with a season of hard daily hawking she turned into a fantastic rabbit hawk. You can see her flights in my other videos 😁 Thank you for the input though!!

If you mean all the birds on my channel, I have posted clips of several of my past and present birds. :) I believe I have posted some footage of 3 of my rabbit hawking birds (both red tails are from past years - I currently only have Ducky) and one work bird!

A Harris Hawk. I used to fly one to scare pigeons and gulls. Gulls hate them! But I used to get 💩 on a lot by the gulls, occupational hazard, lol.

14 years old ..and imprint, and maltreated... One could be happy that she keeps her talons mostly in check... We just adopted a cat of somewhat unknown background, and he still, after almost two months, insists on staying hidden for about 95% of his time...loves being petted, but often hisses on first approach to his little corner (he only stays in places with overhead cover). Sorry for divergence from your hawk, but cats seem to have huge commonality with these "airborne cats"! Great that you're giving her some long-overdue good care!

She totally does. We are not sure though, as little to nothing is known about her past. She has been in a chamber by herself for at least 4 years. Handed from person to person, never flown and unwanted. Poor bird is a mental wreck.

Isolation and who knows what ""Pet keepers "" she was with - maybe starvation at times ? That's why the behavior? 🤔 How does she act ? With a full crop ? 🤔 Like fill her up until she can't take a nother titbit . Behavior? I am curious 🤔
@cometfalconry
@cometfalconry 7 ай бұрын
I don't doubt she has been through all of that. With a full crop she is pretty chill, acts like a cropped up red tail. She will still look for food but with half intent, and won't take it if you offer it haha. No screaming with a big crop. She is too full to do anything

Hopper is the dog hahaha, I was trying to get her focus on me when I was saying her name. But that's the thing with this bird- we don't know if she's an imprint or not. She's kind of a "rescue", been in a chamber for years. No one knows the full extent of her past. She certainly acts like an imprint often, but then my mentor tells me that ALL imprints are face grabbers, so therefore my bird here is not an imprint. I don't know if I agree.

I think you're right. She seems to be a pretty well-raised imprint. She doesn't scream unless I deviate from her schedule. And she only shows aggression toward dogs... she has grabbed many. More than just my dogs...

@@cometfalconry most Harris hate dogs 🐶 seems to have something to do with coyotes they had to compete with, and sure a coyote is a Danger to a Hawk that's busy clutching prey 🤔.
