I just bought one and don't recommend it. It is full of engineering flaws. Mainly it needs a third post on the rear it will not index correctly because there's no support back there for the ball detent under the turret. The priming arm is flawed also.

Hey Walter,so with powder coating bullets there is no need for bullet sizing?I still size&lube and can no longer find red rooster bullet lube.Any help would be appreciated.
@viejo2a7 күн бұрын
@@JohnBergens Hi John. No..in most cases we still size our powder coated bullets. We use push-through sizer dies such as those offered by Lee and NOE. WhenI was lubrisizing, I made my own lube, and have a home-grown mold for making it into sticks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmKcg56XrNqhY7sfeature=shared But I haven’t used the RCBS Lubri-sizer much at all since I started powder coating. Good Morning to You Walter 🎉 My Dad literally beat into Me "Always treat Your molds like they were extremely precious to You". And I have, Dad had an OLD Ideal single cavity of this bullet marked #429215, which means it was made before the Thompson gas check design bullets were incorporated into the Lyman/Ideal line. They took existing bullets numbers and switched them out with the new design. Or so Dad told Me. I cast a lot of these bullets out of that old SC mold for His ancient S&W #3 in .44Russian. Trimmed down a lot of .44Spl cases too. I bought that mold from Buffalo Arms back in 1998, they had a Special run made by Lyman. The allen head locking screw was standard equipment by then. And I switched out all locking (grub) screws by then. I crimp right over the top of that front driving band, never had a problem. And I've even shot some in both .44Spl & .44WCF in Lever guns without a problem. Thanks again, see Ya tonight. 🎉 👍😁🦶🪶🇺🇸
@viejo2a7 күн бұрын
@@walksfletcher cool. I have a newer 429215 GC mold, 2-cav. I wasn’t sure when they made the switch on locking screws. My preference is for allens, but have opted to keep as many in original form as possible. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

@viejo2a7 күн бұрын
Hiya, Dave. Agreed, I prefer a crimp groove as well, but there are several grooveless older molds such as the 42798 that I use in 44-40. For such bullets I have collet and taper crimp dies to handle them. Thanks, as always for stopping by and taking time to comment! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
@thorsaxe58817 күн бұрын
@@viejo2aAs pretty much a stand by, I use 200 gr bullets for my small .44 bulldogs, the crimp grove gives a extra step of securing the bullet in a revolver, I have shot 265 gr bullets out of them, however the blast recoil is tremendous. they are a handful for such a light weight pistol. thanks for your reply Walter.
