Thank you for this… I’ve just been transported directly back to my 20’s in the 80’s when I was a huge fan of Siouxsie & the Banshees, P.I.L. and The Cure….. Saw them live many, many times - best decade of my life 👏👏

Talk about value for money - an arena show back in 1991 with Ride, Jesus Jones, New Model Army, Carter USM, Wedding Party, and then the Cure.... probably cost all of £20 plus a £1 booking fee.

We lived in the sticks and the only good radio station was Stony Brook College Radio DRE, and later in life I would see bands there and DJ there at the pit, what does this have to do with this album, in 1986 this was the 6th Cure album I had, I had every The Smiths record up to date , U2 ,RHCP , Fishbone,Pixies ,what critics call "the Essentials" but after my dad brought home this I told him that that was my favorite band, so then he brought home "Standing on a Beach" it was the same record? but what really got me was the 12 inch singles, my Father always somehow got promotion copies of everything, so what made me a fan was 1978 a promotional copy of the 7-inch "Jumping Someone Else's Train" which had "I'm Cold" on the B-side , and that turned out to be my favorite song of all time, so many songs... and its just so rare to have one band with so many songs that aged to perfection, one of my top 10 nights in 50 years was on 8/20/1989 Disintegration Tour, the same day my dad got me and my friends 8 tickets, was the same day Newsday put out a article in there arts section calling "The Cure" mope rock, hinting it was so depressing it could be dangerous to let your children to listento the music? the night included a big bag of mushrooms, and I don't think I moved or blinked through the 25 songs, PIxies , Love and rockets opening it was just epic, the light show was made for trippers , as "The Cure" went through a pretty large "experimental Stage" of Psychedelics ,small amounts on stage ,but still day trippers...
