Is it still a place for celebrities and rock stars or is it more of a family place now?

A Lynchian setting for a great story. The paths and sidewalks with glades of sun and shade-dappled greens on both sides next to the white exterior. A fairy-tale waiting to unfold.

Congratulations on visiting the filming location for the beginning of the movie! It hasn't changed much since 1960!

Keith (and Greg) didn't perform this live since 1992, it's pretty magic listening a 2010 performance of this. Keith holds up despite his surgery problems. In fact it's maybe the best track of all the show/minitour

Spent three absolutely perfect days here last year. The pool, the aura, the laid back feeling and how outside life seems to vanish away. The bathroom was a nostalgia gut-punch because it was like stepping back into my grandma's house again (a house I haven't been to since 2003). Like nothing has changed since the early sixties. And you're sitting there drinking cocktails at a bar that a hundred years of Hollywood stars have visited. I dressed up and felt so glamorous! And yes, I have to blame Lana Del Rey for fixing this place in my head. :D

The pub that you see in the film was actually a shop it was bought in 2002 and the owner turned it into a pub

Reminiscing in 2023 of my one day stay at the Chateau Marmont in 2013 and believe me I had a blast. Overnight skinny dipping in their heated pool was magical and having them serve me filet mignon at 5am; made me feel like a superstar at least for one night 🌟.

There’s something about West Hollywood that’s always captivated me. Walking on Sunset Blvd at night always gives me nostalgic like goose bumps. The Chateau is gorgeous. If I was loaded I’d rent out the presidential suite lol.

Was browsing and just found your video. I was at this convention and thought how cool. But to my surprise as I viewed it @ 10:28 I am the guy in the green and white striped shirt on the left of the screen, that you passed by while filming. I was a young 36 then lol, now an old monster kid of 63. Thanks for the memory.

Choice of music is excellent. Scenery is awesome. A visit to Cong is a must. Interesting to note that the composer of Inishfree music got no credits on the film. He may not have been interested in claiming copyright. One wonders if the film would have made such impact without the use of the music. Richard (Dick) Farrelly was the writer of the words and I believe the music a short time before the film was made, and was used by John Ford to maximum effect
